Not at all.. The whole point of kyoto was to commercialise environmentalism. What because they have reduced pollution they shouldnt sign? I dont understand your point.

Well it's cos they have allready reduced their co2 output vastly, this happened during the collapse of the Soviet Union, all the big industry dissapeared.
The Kyoto treaty is based on figures from when they were belching it out, so kinda makes a mockery in my mind of CO2 reduction, they are allowing co2 output to go UP from what it is now as people buy and use Russias quotas.

Exactly but there is a cost associated in doing so. Im still not understanding your original point. For example here in New Zealand we also have a surplus of carbon credits but our polution has increased during the negotiation period. So although we are still 'making money' , we are not making as much money. So yes a country can increase its polution but it does cost them. This has always been the environmental cost/benefit paradigm of kyoto.

Well my point really being, they are in it for the money , not any supposed envionmental reasons.
Cos they know as people are starting to realise the whole Global warming malarcky is bolax.

The society of small Island nations or whatever they're called tried to sue the US for rising sea levels, the whole case collapsed after data after data showed the sea level had dropped in 50 years.

well. russia being as poor as they are i cant really blame them for making the little cash they can from it (i know they have it alot better then 10 years ago but they are still poor)... yes theres probably other ways of making money from. but this looks like a easy and fast way.. probably wont do much in the long run but atleast it helps a tiny bit.

Most of all you have to admire the strong arguments, solid facts and scientific approach that lead you down to this amazing conclusion. Reading the Sun?

No, just listen to the evidence from 'real' scientists not environmental group funded 'media whores'.
Anyone remeber David Bellamy, that gravel voiced Nature TV presenter and full time eco-warrior, he has come forward in support of the sceptics ' the whole global warming theory caused by mankind is a joke' he says.

I'm sorry I can't help myself.
Won't mention it again.
