Strange that Tucker Carlson, on his ‘Russia is amazing’ tour doesn’t mention stuff like this. Instead he marvels about how cheap food is (to him, not Russians) and the marvellous innovation of shopping trolleys with coin locks to prevent homeless people stealing them.

If the west deals with the massive inequalities of wealth and neuters the ultra-rich in favour of making more meaningful, more ethical and more economically just democracies, then the west won't have anything to fear.

So we're fucked.

Edit: The rise of facism and strongman politics has always been an inevitable consequence of such dramatic economic imbalance. People have been saying it for decades, and I've been making that argument myself since the 2008 crash.

Just beating Russia in Ukraine doesn't cut the mustard - if we don't fix the structural problems that make us susceptible to this sort of shit, we'll vote the facists in ourselves. As has always been the case.
