Hopefully you are right.

But even tho all classes in DAoC had its moments in the set groups, all of them were never viable at the same time, maybe with the exclusion of pre SI when things were actually pretty balanced. I mean, when was the last time you frequently saw a Thane in more then one set group. :)

It will probably not be so bad for the set groups in Rift, but the pugs will struggle something horrible i suspect.

Or maybe i should say the pugs that have played nothing but WoW :)

Thanes were really good in NF for ages! :p

We actually had some 4v4 fights with another guild last night, it was quite sickening how the fights changed when we changed specs. We went from winning and losing 50/50 to just flattening the other group with one spec change; Mage from Pyro/Ele to Dom/Pyro.

I think if there is any fg vs. fg scene in this game - though I highly doubt it since zerging is the prevailing mentality for years now - then there will be a lot of room for different setups to win but at the same time it feels like some setups will have quite hard counters right now.

Seems you haven't played the Bard then, I have a Justicator at rank 22 or so, but I'm playing a bard at rank 12 or so, and it owns, it has a nuke that heals everyone in the group for the damage it does, basically, cut a long story short, im immortal.

Some 2 postcount posters on zam trying to hype the game... hohum.

tbh I'm only going to play this because my guild is and it'll be fun to pvp with them even if i find the rest of the game pretty dull.

I've just joined a new guild with a couple of friends from WAR, and a IRL mate, we've joined www.DarkJudgement.co.uk which are a mature guild, generally 21+ but they're a good bunch, know what they're doing, and rolling a PvP server, as PvE servers look pretty boring on this atm - Let me know if you're interested! :)

Or post an application :)

tried this again last night in a last ditch attempt to enjoy it and i must say switching to defiant from the good side actually made a massive difference, it was just the start area on the good side that was boring me it seems :) Really enjoying it now.

made a justicar/druid

Are the ex-daoc'ers planning a server?

Would definitely be a good thing, but are there actually many DAoC guilds, or guilds consisting primarily of DAoC players anyway, going to Rift?

We will be going to a PvP server as <Crowd Control> at least with a guild made up of ex-DAoCers - Miri, Apidya/Jiro/Nystra, Sms, Lorfo, Aile and some friends from other guilds. We've been having a blast in the beta so far, would be really nice to cultivate a great, competitive PvP server by having as many DAoC-based guilds there as possible. I've seen Kompaniet, Fenno and Horde around, but no other DAoC guild names I recognised really. Not even sure if those aforementioned guilds are the same as the DAoC ones.

The only initiative I've seen so far even remotely similar to this is one to make the 'Unofficial World PvP Server', the guild list of which comprises either zerg guilds from Warhammer that now claim to 'not zerg or add' but were happy to run around with 100 people for the last 2 years of Warhammer, or guilds I've never heard of with 30+ members. Maybe I'm just being over cynical but they don't seem like the type of guilds who are going to make their choice of server the place to be for PvP.

That said, it still might be better than joining some random server and ending up with Russian Mafia and Greenfire like we did in Aion :p.

Uh we already knew last beta was 15th - 22nd ( seems they cut a day off the end ).

EU headstart being 9 days long is pretty sick, anyone who doesn't headstart is going to be waaaay behind. It seems pretty easy to hit 40 in 9 days of hardcore play, possibly even 50.
