Operation booking made at local city hospital Sunday afternoon and place accepted for Monday, ambulance turns up to take me there at 23:30 Tuesday night.
Come out of operation at 10:00 today, patient services pick me up at 22:00.
It's a blessing I was collected today as I had a bit of a ding dong with the sister.

How'd it go @JBP| ?
Had a stent fitted, they cut the artery at your wrist and wiggle a wire up your arm and into your heart for a good rummage around.
If they do find a blockage they inflate the artery with a balloon and put the stent in.
The whole thing took an hour but fook me it hurt inflating the artery, so look after your hearts kids, this isn't a procedure I recommend.

Wow. Awake for that. Ouch. Glad you're OK.

You got diet n exercise instructions from the docs?

I'm going back keto and daily bike rides in Jan for (partly) that reason. A non-gluttonous largely western diet just has too many carbs and I'm sick of being hungry all the time. Weight'll drop off and small exercise every day means fitness will skyrocket.

Gonna try to start daily callesthenics too. I'm getting long in the tooth to change habits of a lifetime but I want extended healthspan (who gives a monkeys how long they live - but the physical breakdown people see in their 70's is entirely self-inflicted.

Thank you.
No instructions, there are not really needed, I get a reasonable amount of exercise at work, but that is going to change when I go back after Christmas and if my boss doesn't like it I'll walk.

Diet wise no need to make changes everying is fine, blockage has been blamed on smoking and after 6 days of everyone banging on about stopping, I revealed my quitting plan which seemed to impress enough people to get them off my back.

I'm sure you're not after advice, but here's my unsolicited advice anyway... the gum really helped me :)

On the three they put in my dad they went via his leg.

He also said it was painful but better that than the alternative.

I got a vomiting bug on Saturday (thought it was food poisoning, turns out not), my son got it on Monday, my daughter got it today, just the missus left, and based on the current run rate, guess when it's going to hit her? Merry fucking Christmas (and listening to your kids throwing up in the next room and being able to do fuck all about it is grim).

They don't even offer laughing gas instead of staying awake?
I had a local on my wrist where the incision was made.
I didnt get to see live images as there was a camera the size of a 32" TV screen whizzing around on a robotic arm.
They did show me before and after images though.
The 2 scary moment for me was hearing someone shout "The stent is moving!" (a whispered reply) followed by, "No its the heartbeat moving it".
Then after they wound was sealed the doctor said " there you go, all done" and plopped my arm on my chest. I felt something trickle so lifted it up to see it covered in running blood.

Still you gotta laugh ain't ya.

Mate of mine had a vasectomy and started describing it to me, because he was apparently awake while they did it.

FUCK THAT. Not that I intend having one, but anything like that you can knock me out or fuck right off. No way.

I had eye surgery years ago and they knocked me out for that, and the last thing I heard before I lost consciousness was the doc asking me how I felt. I said "ok", and he said "well we'll soon change that"....

Yep, you're awake the whole time. It's... disturbing, but not as bad as laser eye surgery where you can smell the burning.

Or when one of my sisters had to have an injection in her eye whilst fully awake, fuck that.

Websites/apps that have a maximum length for passwords without telling you and, when you enter one that's too long, they just crop off any characters over the limit, without telling you. Shocking UX, especially for a finance/forex service.

The Santander banking app that won't let your password manager work, and when you task switch to the manager to read the next few digits of your username, the banking app clears the username field when you return.

Which is why I use the website, which has none of those issues. Honestly I hate Santander, I'd switch but it's my business account and would be a huge pain. I haven't been able to use my debit card for over a year because I can't speak to someone to unblock it without a 30 minute wait, and fuck that.

Hot tub has arrived and is in place. Just got to screw on a guard and assemble the chimney. However, I'm so hungover I can't face it.

Goddamn wine
