You have given up before I know you can again :) I am so happy that you are well and home with your wife :)
I've been on patches for a week now, down to less than 10 cigs a day from 25+ before the happening.
Got myself an inhalator today so can start cutting down to 0 over the next week or two. My target is to be clean by the end of January.

Yep, you're awake the whole time. It's... disturbing, but not as bad as laser eye surgery where you can smell the burning.
I'm about 20 years down the road from having mine done now and I've still smelt nothing else like it, just something special about back of the eyeball vapour I guess 🤢

Hot tub has arrived and is in place. Just got to screw on a guard and assemble the chimney. However, I'm so hungover I can't face it.

Goddamn wine

Given your ongoing issues with electricity and the fact it has a chimney I'm guessing you've gone for a wood burning one. This is interesting as the wife has declared her 2023 resolution is to get a hot tub, preferably wood fired .

Which one did you go for?

What on earth is the fascination with people having communal baths in the back garden?

Knock one of them in @Bodhi. 1800 litres. Takes about 5 bags of logs to heat up to 40 degrees (35-38 is the win, I like it hotter). So hellishly expensive -but cheaper than the 'leccy ones.

Once up to 40 deg you put the lid on when you leave it - is 36 at 4pm the next day :)

4 people comfortably in the basic model. Will use it sparingly during the summer.

What @Wij said.

And I've got a nice snowy view in the winter

Behind those trees

:)

Oh, btw - I've got it in the front at the moment, so I can wave at the walkers whilst I'm waiting for my house to be renovated :)

If you want to look at a nice snowy view get a chair and put in near a fire, don't get in the fucking bath with your mates!

Out all day, getting soaking wet through / freezing on a bike and/or mountain. Shivering like fuck.

Sit in a hot tub, warm up, look at the stars, get pissed. Excellent :)

I think people under estimate how much you need to clean hot tubs, jacuzzis, etc. or just don't bother.

Dead easy for a wood one.

Empty > hose & brush > fill. Every few days of use. (Maybe 20 mins total actual working time).

Most important thing is don't let groups of girls in on their own - dem bitches are dirty and will agree to sit in piss-soup for the weekend if it means they don't have to get out to empty their bladder every 20 mins.

I've run it past SWMBO, and the reaction was overall positive but there is a concern about the 1800L part. We've got awful water pressure/flow here so less litres is better, and she's seen a couple at 1500.

I can see the appeal for after I've spent too long on the golf course however.

Filling it is the least problem ever. You put your hose in and fuck off. The difference between 1800l and 1500l is about half an hour of you doing "other shit".

Trust me. Filling and emptying the thing isn't "a thing".

Given how shit the water flow is in our place, I'm not exactly convinced by your "300 litres takes 30 mins" comment, given it takes us about 45 mins to run a bath. We also have to announce if we're going for a shower, as if you flush a toilet it breaks the shower...

So in the spirit of the thread - 30s houses with furry lead pipes and a massive incline on the driveway.

Just grow a beard. I haven't shaved in 15 years now, and my face is loving me for it.

The massive increase in potholes after that cold weather, real couple whoppers near us.

Some on fast roads like the A303 as well.

Accidently buying gluten free porridge. I feel like I am role-playing the Matrix like that cunt Tate, except the fast cars and the people trafficking, I am eating the gruel they eat.
