Didn't see your other post.

So can you for instance go onto Youtube and watch vids like you can do on the PC?

Wireless controllers, HD-DVD etc etc.

Hd-DVD player is not necessary for the console to work. You get a wireless controller with the pro console, a wired one with the core console. Both of which are far cheaper than the ps3.

Infact a pro console is £279, the hd-dvd drive is £130. So a fully kitted out 360 is £410, still cheaper than the ps3.

And the so called "premium" version of the ps3 (the only one available in the UK, so why call it premium?) does not inculde the HDMI cable, that will cost you an extra £18.

So Sony are just as bad for charging for "advanced" features.

Erm your post means nothing like Ch33t said you don't even get the HDMI cable with the PS3 'pro' console' that is just typical sony right there :)

With the 360 premium you got everything you needed to play HD games as soon as you got in, we dodn't have to pay £20 for an extra cable to play HD.

You also got a remote control in the premium pack something which Sony don't want to give you they want you to lay down another £18-£20 :)

360 is a high def gaming console at a cheap price compared to the 360 and it comes with everything you need right out of the box.

With the ps3 you will have to lay down £20 just for the HDMI cable, all courtesy of sony because they didn't want to include it in the box of an already overpriced console.

Now get a wireless and a bigger hard disk for less than £35 and you will be right the 360 is cheaper

One thing that has had me thinking for a while about the PS3 vs 360 is game developers claim the ps3 is bad because at the moment they do not know how to get the best of the consol. But is that a bad thing if year after year they keep getting abit more out of the consol so games keep getting better surely that is good. If they had released a consol that developers get 100% out of at release then it must mean it has a limited life span?

So your happy with shit games and ports for a few years?

Third party devs do not like the PS3 for 1 main reason it is very very expensive to develop for compared to the 360.

All the ports look as good on the ps3 as they do on the 360 that comes from the testing with the MS bods. Untill a PS3 only game shows up like GT HD you will not know how good it will be. But if it looks as good as GoW then with the PS3 you get games as good as a 360 with the possiblity of better games for years and years.

And i have always had questions about how long the 360 will be MS top consol and i doubt it will run for as long as the PS3 minus a year as the 360 is older.

All i need now is a Wii but I dont reckon there is anything massively compulsive to get seeing as I am 3/4 of the way through Zelda on gamecube.

I joined these forums ages ago, maybe 6 years or so and you guys are still acting 6 years younger! All the consoles are amazing in their own different way! Stop being gaylords damnit. Im looking forwards to all next gen gaming ireespective of manufacturer. Bring it on :)

Oh and Aada, youtube does seem to work, just tried it.

You are very misinformed if you think it's more expensive to develop for the PS3. It's true if you were comparing it to the Wii, because Wii games don't need a good story, good textures/models/voice acting/etc.

If you can explain your comment and prove me wrong, please, do it.

Nice setup Doomy, looks sweet :)

Have a 50inch HD myself, only 720p but still looks awesome. Might go 1080p in a year or so when the prices drop. Not sure my bedroom is big enough for a 50inch TV though which is a bit of a pisser because the porno 'Pirates' looks incredible in HD at 50 inches :D

I almost went for the 46" version of the Sharp but I sit 2 meters from it so my sensible side just got there in the end.

1080p looks incredible coming from the PS3, only the digital inputs on my set (2xHDMI) accept 1080p so i havent seen the 360 at its best yet but even at 720p it does look nice.

Looking forwards to affordable blue ray burners, I have 20 or so 1080p films (17-18 gigs each) sitting on harddrives here there and everywhere and am dying to get them on disc.

If you want an explanation look around the net i'm sure you'll find something but if you think the PS3 is dev friendly you are mistaken i'm afraid.

Its more difficult but when they get the know how on how to get the most from it it should have some amazing performance.

It's harder to code for but that doesn't make it more expensive. Fanboys shouldn't go around making claims they can't back up.

If it's more difficult to code for, doesn't that lead to it taking longer to tweak, meaning more time, time costing a good deal of money when you have dozens of people working on a game?

Not sure i'm following your logic ST^(?)

Yep, I am. Seriously, it's not going to take any skilled developer too much extra time to make things work well. However, it is a learning process, which means the PS3 will peak in terms of capabilities later than the other consoles.

All of this happened with the PS2. Very "hard" to code for. As you well know, it didn't exactly hinder growth or developer support :)
