what is odd is the peeps who buy silly addon for games on xbl/psn these wont be available when you play these game son the next console if they have backwards compatiblity

Bought Valkyria Chronicles yesterday, such a beautiful game the story is just starting to get going and the combat system is great fun.

Graphics wise it is somthing i have never seen before on a console and it looks gorgeous.

Easily the best PS3 exclusive i have played so far even better then the overhyped LBP

Go buy it even if your remotely interested in SRPGs you will love it.

Exactly. It was actually relevant for me, and I still didn't give a toss who "won". It wasn't really that important in the long run, although day to day it had a bearing (e.g Microsoft were better to work with than Sony, who were better to work with than Nintendo etc.) But I just don't understand this ridiculous idea that if you buy a console (or any other consumer durable) then any other alternative is automatically worse and then go on to the internet to shout other people down for 12 pages. Its post-purchase cognitive dissonance taken to the max. Get a grip.

I preordered it as soon as I played the demo. Not had a chance to play the actual game yet but it really is fantastic. I'm a big SRPG fan already though. The real surprise is that SEGA developed it. SEGA making an actual good game?!?!

On about episode 5 now the game is pretty good i know there have been some negs on the AI i have seen a few dodgy AI turns but they sure do give you a challenge.

Just finished the last mission on ep 4 and it took me a few tries to finally beat it.

The only grumble i really have is the story is taking a while to get going.

I was interested in this thread until I got an insight into fanboy mentality in that in some way I was an epic fail at life because I bought a PS3 yet nooone (and still yet noone...) has managed to construct a good reason why the PS3 is so shit. The best I've had so far is big bold red letters stating how many units my console is behind, and quite frankly I went from "potentially intresting thread" to "what a bunch of losers" and now I'm so sorry I even got involved and let it be known I owned a PS3 (what an embarrassment)

However I will admit my sheer ignorance of consoles, i've not even had my PS3 a year and I'm completely new to it, but to me it's an awesome piece of kit that the 360 and Wii can't even touch. That said, I can see the enormous qualities of the Wii - what a superb idea, it's a shame it fails in a lot of areas for me personally. If I was hosting another party at mine, I'd most definitely have a Wii on standby and pack the PS3 because the Wii is just bloody amazing in it's simplicity and playability.

The 360 on the other hand, is just pish. I couldn't give a half baked fuck how many units it has sold, the VW Golf is in the top three selling cars of all time but it doesn't make it the better than a 911 (far from it if the hire car I had was anything to go by) does it? When Sony holds its hands up and says "yep, we lose, we're not making the PS3 anymore and all support is stopping" I will continue to believe the PS3 is the best console for me. Until such times that Sony actually do that, the rest of you fanboy bed wetters can shut the fuck up.

In future, I will avoid all such threads.

No worries dude I apologise to you Gaff if I was a tad harsh, nothing personal in the slightest. It's just one of my pet peeves.

But I also agree wholeheartedly with what you said G, I see no sign of Sony dropping it or the games I want to play drying up. It's been rock solid for a year now and its built in a way I can see it keeping that up for some time (watch it nuke its buray drive tomorrow heheh). It's a quality product and no mistake, unlike the Renault 360 and Fisher Price Wii. Due to the completely disposable nature of the 360, I'm not bloody surprised its outselling the PS3. Remember folks, a games console is for life, not just Christmas.

you're just another sony mentality over-angry twat. all that's been said in this thread is that ps3 has pretty much failed as a games console (considering sony's hold over the console market with the ps2)

bad ports, buggy games with lack lusture online appeall.. compared to the 360 and it's back catalogue and expanding online service that keeps getting better..

i had a ps3 for 4 months, really awesome piece of kit but i had no interest in a bluray drive right now (don't see that changing for a long time, by then bluray players will be reasonably priced) there's no arguement about it's use or functionality.. it's just generally not a great games console considering how much later it was released. the 360 might be pish to you, but for gamers its cheap and currently providing a better gaming experience than the ps3 which stands over twice it's price
