Does no one else find this complaint utterly petty? A one time wait of 5-10 minutes is nothing and makes no difference to anyone at the end of the day. It makes the game run faster anyway, what's the big deal?

Initial installs, yeah, nothing wrong with them. I do kinda agree on MGS4 but only because of the install per chapter. However, it's purely a choice by the developer. How can it be an argument against the PS3?

Because you should have choice?

...... since when was it slow? It has a lower max speed than the 360 DVD drive but has a much higher min speed. The overall difference is negligible.

Look at Uncharted. Everything is streamed from blu-ray (not hard drive) and yet you'll only see a minor texture pop-in once or twice throughout the whole game. If the drive was so slow, why doesn't it affect Naughty Dog? :)

You know the best bit about this whole thread? Last year the Sony faction on this forum were all claiming Christmas 2008 was gonna be thiers, they said the same of Christmas 2007 and fell flat on thier arses as well. This year will be a repeat, infact there may well be blood on the floor when all is said and done.

Face facts boys, 2 years on from PS3 release and it is STILL 10 million units behind in worldwide sales. Thats right, Sony are no closer to overturning that lead now than they were at PS3 release. The PS3 has not gained the traction you all claimed it would, partly because of the price, partly because of the poor software lineup with crap ports and partly because Wii stole alot of your traditional customers.

Either way, the PS3 is still a long long way behind and the 360 is alot cheaper which means that the PS3 will most likely get murdered this Christmas on pricepoint alone, the 360 delivers pretty much what the PS3 does but it is alot cheaper and there is alot more software available. There is a recession on, families ain't going to be spending £270 on a console for little Timmy this year because just as I said last year why would they when they can get the same for less elsewhere.

Yes, but haven't 11 milion Xboxs melted themselves by now?

At least you ain't in denial the about 10 million lead or you would have posted something a little more constructive, thats a good start. As for the 'melting' consoles, well Microsoft have had to take that on the chin and repair every single one of those. They never refused to do any of those repairs and they often compensate people for the loss of thier console by sending free games or controllers so it isn't as horrific an issue as some would have you believe. They certainly aren't leaving anyone out in the cold with broken consoles, they did the right thing and ponied up the cash to set the problem straight.

MS had a huge lead when the PS3 launched. If the PS3 did catch up, Microsoft would have had to seriously underperform and Sony would have had to seriously overperform. I don't know why you make a big thing about being in the lead since anything else would have been a huge and unexpected failure.

Twaddle. If PS3 was performing against its peers the way PS1 and PS2 did then it would have overtaken 360 long ago.

If it performed like the PS2 then yeah, it would have. But the 360 isn't anywhere near the PS2 either, so are Microsoft also failing? I don't really get your point.

oh please like the ps2 ever had any competition once they destroyed sega.

You either bought a ps2 or you bought a gamecube that only ever had one great game and that was RES4 unless you enjoyed the countless mario & megaman games.

Sony had their glory just as sega did with the mastersystem and megadrive the saturn failed because it was overpriced and they thought it would sell because they were sega, history is repeating itself in a sense.

Thanks Aada, that's exactly the fucking point I was making. The PS3 was never going to match the PS2 no matter what.

Didn't the Xbox outsell the Gamecube though? Bit silly to say people either had a Gamecube or a Ps2.

Did my bit to help the PS3 by picking up Resistance 2 yesterday. So far, seems a vast improvement on the first. The graphics are stunning.

Wait until you try the multiplayer co-op.

That's the weakest comparison ever qw it boils down to: "if I put the best features of a host of games on this side and a solitary game on the other side then do a comparison, then the solitary game loses, HUZAH!"

Aada won't understand the problem you're explaining here. Maybe you could demonstrate it with some macaroni art :).

It has 30 vs 30 multiplayer (lag free, suck it PSN haters) and an 8-player coop campaign. What other console games do that?

They are the good points about the game but i rented R2/COD5 the same day i played R2 fist for about 2 hours on multiplayer it was fun but i felt something lacked in the game and i couldn't put my finger on it.

I then put COD5 in and never touched R2 again, COD5 wipes the floor with R2.

Fair enough no 30 v 30 battles but the MP just felt better.

Maybe it was that fps games equals FAIL on consoles? :)

But still, R2 is the only interesting game atm. I just love proper COOP games (except GoW, i really didn't like that. Haven't tested GoW 2 tho.)

i don't think they fail at all sure you don't have pin point accuracy but once you get used to how they play it's more fun then using a mouse and keyboard.

I would gladly buy COD5 for the PC and use the 360 pad but apprently it doesn't work even though it is listed in the manual :p

Back to R2, the AI is pretty sucky too though countless times you see them stuck running in part of th scenary and sometimes they don't even fire back.

Oh. My. God. Are you lot still here? You're arguing about which lump of plastic and silicon is better than which other lump of plastic and silicon. Who cares who "wins"? You all got shares in MS or Sony? No? So why the fuck do you care? Get a life ffs.
