I have a PS3, so don't give me any multi platform games. I have a PC, so again, no multi platform games. Assuming I really don't want to play Halo, what's left?

I'm quite happy with my xbox. Most people I know has one, and it has the most people online. The greatest games are multiplatform anyway

I never have, but there is nothing on that list that makes me want to spend £30 - £50 on it. And nothing that makes me think, oooo.

Depends on the series, reception of the original and/or the studio making the sequel.

Sure it's not like original IP is always bursting from developers but I guess it's the perceived notion that publishers don't like taking risks when it comes to project that could potentially cost millions and tie up developers for years, much the same as film studios.

Sadly, given the choice, would Activision rather choose a new genre defining game that would change the face of gaming forever, or commission another CoD, or even take the concept of the uber shiny new genre busting idea and wrap it in the guise of an established IP?

It's the easy option B that I suppose makes people respond somewhat derisively to sequels, just because there are so many these days :/

It's not just the publishers, fans want sequels to their favourite games. I love sequels. Some of my favourite games ever, like MGS2 and God of War 2, are sequels!

Little Big Planet 2 - first one was good fun
Killzone 3 - bit of a marmite game but looks and plays amazing from the previews.
Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 - supposedly the best one to date if you are into the series
