basically the server (and all characters) will be exactly as they were X days ago (at whatever time the rollback is taken to).

i.e. anything that had been done between the rollback point and the server going down would have been undone.

So all gaming progress goes poo poo?
I've been farming hard the last week, this will be replaced if gone in a rollback?
Saw this mentioned in a previous post that items and cash etc won't all go poo.
Has to suck losing ML4-6 credit that was held last sunday for instance.

this idea may need some further thought: but i used to play a game called Legend of Mir, and whenever they patched a server, or screwed up and there was server downtime/hassle, theyd basically initate a double(sometimes triple) exp day. basically where every mob you killed was worth 3x the experiance. now legend of mir admittedly was a much simpler game. but there must be some sort of system like this that you could call on? just to reimburse some of the time the prydwenners have/will lose..

Imho put up the NF test server again (gorre) much funnier than making /level 20 chars on other servers just a thought.

Gorre will not be opened up to the general population for a number of reasons (some of which have already been clearly stated by Xalin) besides the server is not built for high pop... it is meant for testing only.

well, in fairness the legend of mir christmas event completely destroyed the game economy. I ended up with like 3 Judgement Maces, Demonic bells, god knows how many mage staffs..

(for people who didnt play it, the daoc equivilent would basically be to have spirit wolves running round the main city, dropping ML10 gear and fully leveled artifacts so that even level 3's could get their hands on it)

but yeah, some sort of event or special system would be nice. i know its not GOA's fault that the servers crashed.. but something needs to be done to make up for it.

I gotta admit I am disappointed to hear that the server will be out of action over the weekend.

I was even more disappointed that GOA went ahead and clustered the french servers on Thursday when there resources should have been spent fault finding prydwyn imho.

We wait long enough for patch translations I thought this was very insensitive.

Still many thanks to Xalin and Requiel for keeping us informed and keeping there heads when all around are loosing theirs.

I think xalin pointed out that, those databases already was sorted out before the prydwen problem, so in fact they didnt use time on this... Dont correct me if im wrong, but I think xalin pointed this out, somewhere i this post.. Cba to look thru 20 pages..

Really hope the rollback isn't by too much.

In the past 2 weeks a bunch of us have:
Rolled on pryd
Created a guild
Levelled to 50
Done a few MLs
Got some artis and quite a lot of often hard to get scrolls.

Not sure if i'll continue playing if all of this is lost as a lot of the fun had gone from the game on old realm/server. I wonder if any GM can comment if in principal GOA will try to restore anything lost by the rollback, or if anything lost will be gone forever.

Hoping for the best, and I'm sure that GOA are doing everything they can to keep the disruption to a minimum.

This idea I like. they did that in EQ2, when the server was messed up for few days. giving freebie online days to me due this downtime is nothing. I pay automatically my subs every month, one day free here or there doesn't make a world of difference tbh.

similar in last 7 days deleted 4 lev 50 hibs, rerolled alb heretic, got to 34 found great guild, in lats 2-3 days transfered what cash had from mid/excal...

just checked 2 of my accounts that end on 2nd, so just switched of renew, left my alb account active to see what happened (realy dont want loose the alb guild i met) and proceded to download US catas, just waiting for cd key now..

cant belive im leaving after 3yrs, but least i'll see horses faster and mythic WONT need wait for french to wake up and fix stuff for them if it breaks!!

I sure hope people are still able to fight their way through all the +1 posts in this thread but hey... I'll keep posting bits of info as long as I think I'm helping a couple of you with it. A shame really I didn't want to close the thread as I wanted to give you guys the option to give your feedback and ask your questions. A lot of you seem to appreciate it (thanks for the supportive PM's and Rightnows) but a few can't seem to handle this freedom very well.

Some people are just never happy, and bitch whenever they see an opportunity.
If the problem is as big as you hint it is, then I'm sure there are lots of people who appreciate your updates, and the fact that you say you're working on it.. I know I do, and even though the downtime is a bitch, since I had a few things I would've liked to get done before I retire my account entirely, it's just one of those things that can happen.. no reason to get my panties in a twist about it, as I can't do a thing to neither stop it, nor fix it.

Probably gonna get flamed for sucking up, but personally, I'm just glad to know that they're working on it, and care enough to update for all of us

Just read through all the posts zzZZZ and it concerns me that its been said that its likely we wont get free days for the time prydwen has been down.
It doesn't make a blind bit of difference that the other servers are up and running. People pay alot of money to play this game over the course of a year.
Yes at the end of the day it is only a game but while that server is down the service provided is not 100%.

If your mobile phone only allowed you to dial 999 for a week and your provider said "you can still use your phone so we wont be compensating you" would you be happy to pay your bill at the end of the month?? i dont think so.

Yes its a shame the server is down but once its fixed compensate the players imo its the least GOA can do.
