We worked on this pretty much all night and we have people working on it again right now. We have taken the platform down ourselves for internal testing late last night. I know you're all craving more information but we can't release any at the moment. Please remember that no news does NOT mean we've stopped working or caring, it might just mean there is no news.

We are working on it and are confident we found the problem. I can not give you any indication as to how long it is going to take.

We will obviously be considering granting you guys (a) free day(s) on your subscription as we have every single time in the past. However as usual nothing is official until you read it in the news on our website.

We'd like to announce the tragic death of our server hamster, Zerg. The poor little fella just couldn't run any more packets. However we now propose to replace him with the processor from a Sega Megadrive.

We hope you will all understand and pay the $40 rise in subscription to cover this cost and my beer money on a Friday. Err i mean the costs of installing said system.

Additional: While the above news was being written i'd like to announce the tragic suicide of his life-long mate, Whine. We plan to replace whine with a specially trained Ham Sandwich for the interim period and thank you for your understanding that subscription costs may triple accordingly.

what i think it is, ea are pumping money into warhammer so they're cutting back on daoc, the servers are down because the hamster is away getting his pictures taken, because they're changing the next expansion, instead of "Labarinth of the minotuar", it will be "Maze of the Hamster"

Auch hier ein kleines Update zur momentanen Situation:

Im Verlaufe der Nacht mussten, nachdem Excalibur/Prydwen Cluster, Brocielande und Avalon nacheinander innerhalb einer Stunde unerwartet heruntergefahren wurden, aus Sicherheitsgründen alle Server heruntergefahren werden, da vermutet wurde dass durch einen technischen Fehler kaskadierende (schneeballsystemartige) Effekte auftreten.

Die Techniker, welche die ganze Nacht an der Problemlösung gearbeitet hatten, konnten inzwischen rausfinden was das Problem war und nachdem noch einige Tests gemacht werden sollten die Spielserver am späten Nachmittag (ca. 1600) wieder verfügbar sein. Es wird sicherlich noch eine diesbezügliche Information auf der offiziellen Website geben.

Soweit der momentane Kenntnissstand ist, wird es keinen Rollback geben über eine Kompensierung für die verlorengegangen Spielzeit wird zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt entschieden werden. Die Situation ist ausserordentlich und war durch keine Symtome nicht vorhersehbar.
