Actually wish Planetside was subscription based instead of this type of F2P.

I really want to like Planetside 2, I really really do. Except I can't make myself log in.

Was testing fraps this morning on a little battle I got into on my Vanu alt, stuck it up to 2x speed as it would have been 4-5 mins long if I didn't :p flying was going quite well until team mate ran into me >< then onwards to some infantry rape.

Is it totally free to play so you don't even have to buy the game? I saw it on Steam and it didn't even have a purchase price...

Indeed.

You dont actually have to spend any money on it ever. It just speeds up weapon acquisition as they cost ~1000 certs at times.

Same here, but in my case i actually DO like the game but still can't be bothered with it.

And it's all down to the fact that it's free to play. Everything about that game almost demands that i buy boosters or station cash to get a decent gaming life.

Not once have i been able to just log in and enjoy the game. There's always been this overlaying repeated taunt of "buy boosters, buy station cash, buy boosters, buy station cash" because without them the progression is HIDEOUSLY slow.

True getting new stuff to buy from certs is slow. But still, they need to sell stuff to make money. Especially considering it's F2P

Jump in and play a few hours with basic gear, works for me

Also btw if you are having FPS issues try knocking Render Quality down abit, my FPS was playable but I wanted it more stable so I put RQ down to 85% and left everything else on high now it runs @ 55-60fps+ in 70+ man fire fights.

What keyboard does he have?!!

He's complaining about a client crash to desktop - not of broken fingers.

some of the logitech keyboards in the G15-etc range is causing software conflicts apparently :)

The game is such buggy pre-release gash it's unbelieveable.

Ever heard of hardware abstraction, Sony?

Runs ok with my G15, tis fairly old tho.

I used the cpu unparking i linked above. Have me a 15 fps boost in big fights, definatey worth a look. Also the 310.64 drivers from nvidia are fairly good!

Lots of bugs, crashes to desktops, multiple client issues.

It's working fine for you and, like any fanboi, you're all "mwaaaah, don't criticise what I like"...
