The person who wrote it might, I for one don't care why. The problem is things getting shut down because of religous QQ. I really am getting tired of it, it's gone beyond what they (muslims) complain about, it seems it's pretty much anything these days as per the Koran (Word of God) tells them.

I don´t know why the decapitation was needed in the original play. But someone came up with the question why they added Jesus, Buddha and Mohammed and I think that´s not too tricky to find out. Apparently, the author of the opera wanted to make a certain statement about the religious figure Poseidon. And the guy who made the staging thought, that it would fit into our time as well, so he drew the parallels. *shrug*
Not exactly original, but hey, I´ve seen worse artistic expressions.

I'm not a racist or narrowminded person. But at this point i'm completely fed up with the islamic oversensitivity. EVERY time i see a spokesperson from the muslim community i loose more and more empathy for them. They seem to find insults in every thing said to them and it seems to me that they have no interest in living among other religions. I have no problem with the everyday faithful muslim. I know a few and even call some friends. But for all those who keeps going borderline fundamentalistic and demand satisfaction for everything involving islam. Imagine you move to a muslim country;
You demand money even if you are doing nothing, a home, the government has to pay for a christian church for you. Pork in the lunch for you and your kids, your wife has to have the right to vote, respect about your religion and habbits, porn, democracy, you have the right to call the country shit and it's women whores when you feel like it. They have to allow your wife to wear a bikini and your kids watch MTV. No, right?
