I just think you should apolgise for unwanted effects of your actions as well. True, you did not want to achieve that effect, but you achieved it anyway and should take responsibility for that. With taking responsibility I mean: a) accepting that you have offended someone and b) making clear to the person you offended that it wasn't your intention to offend them.

And also (just to set something straight)... Muslims are NOT a race, they are a culture. You can hate any culture you want, because cultures are ideas about how society should function. They are not the same as black and white. Therefore said hatred is valid. This also applies to criticism. You can criticise any culture you want. I truely do understand if something is offensive to your beliefs then by all means protest and do your best to get people to see how bad what they've done is to you, but in an educated smart way not by shouting like a mental case and waving a banner saying "behead the infidels!!!!" and if youve got people acting like this can you really be rational and sit down and reason with them?

When it comes down to it if you find something offensive you have the choice of whether to read/watch/listen to it. Hell of a lot of programs and such like on the media which make offensive references to Christianity and yep people make complaints, generally they don't threaten to kill the people responsible and anybody even vaguely connected to them.

I'm sure if I chose to burn, for example, the Saudi flag because of some of the things they get up to in that country that I find offensive some Muslims would kick off because of the text on the flag being sacred blah blah blah, probably the same ones who happily burn the Danish flag.

The burning of a Christian symbol is no less offensive than a cartoon showing Mohammed shafting a pig, yet don't see the leadership of the countries in which that has happened queuing up to apologise.

I noticed one of the places where there have been protests and threats is in the Palestinian territories, wonder if they are going to be so offended that they will stop taking EU aid? Somehow I doubt if their religious sensibilities will be THAT offended.

Anyone know where I can buy a Saudi flag and a box of firelighters?

From a muslim point of view living in a muslim community, you know 99% of the muslim people i live and work with took the cartoons on the chin and carried on, where all these extremists and placards come from i really cant help you. Not one muslim person I have met in the real world has said, yes lets kill a Dane, to be honest most would find in unthinkable to say such a thing.

I live in an area which is predominantly muslim, and i'm yet to see a poster, sticker or even a bit of graffiti that in any way incites hatred towards the danes, yes you do everyone once in a while get graffiti against whats been happening in the middle east, most notably Palestine, but past that i cant personally see where all this hatred that muslims are supposedly hating comming from.
