Is it just me or are NTL going the completely retarded route about Customer Relations? Telling us that they wont fix it unless loads of people complain is like telling us that they dont give a shit about the minority who suffer with their complete lack of spinal column and intestinal fortitude to fix THEIR problems. Although we appear to be the minority, we still pay £34.99 and £24.99 respectively and we deserve the same support and service that the rest of the country gets.

I've rung and I've played hell with the smug git on the other end of the line and shocked some sense back into that boy's head. He tried to fob me off by saying that it wasn't NTL's problem that a few people are suffering and that they don't need to fix it if they dont see it as being threatening to the rest of their customer base.

It's times like these I wanna ring every neck of every monkey who works in that zoo they call an ISP

Just spoken to Tecnical and they have told me about a problem they have discovered in the area, ETA for the fix is 11AM sunday.

Another night of www.natural-selection.org for me.

and as there was no Email address on the NTL site I picked some educated guesses to send a complaint to. Don't know if any will work, hopefully their admin will use his noggin and redirect em :)

Just received a reply from the ntl Guy who phoned me earlier today:

Hi Mr Spydor,
With regard to our conversation earlier I have had our fault management team examine your e-mail and we cannot find an obvious fault but we fully appreciate one may exist all the same.
In order to try to investigate further, we would ideally need to have more examples of our customers affected by this problem as if a fault exists, it is difficult to track down from just one example. Hopefully the other people who play this game will also contact us regarding the issue or the administrators of the server may get back to you with an explaination?

If you have any more information in the mean time please let us know.

I believe you are already aware of this problem form other people affected.I also have this problem and cannot connect to the European DAOC servers located at 193.252.123.21, as are a great many people and it is purely NTL customers who are affected. if i may draw your attention to the forum where this has been raised and has taken over a thousand hits.

i have also included a pingplotter file showing the massive packet loss experienced.

many people are having great trouble getting you to investigate this properly. let me say that NTL is my internet service provider, that means you provide my internet service and therefore have a duty to investigate and if necessary liase with third parties that your routers may be connected to resolve this problem. I only have cable modem to play this game and will not hesitate to have this removed should it not be satisfactorily resolved. I would suggest you take a look at the above forum thread which will give you an indication of how widespread the problem is and also assist you in any diagnostics. There are a number of trace routes and ping files also there.

Hope any further bad publicity can be avoided by a speedy resolution.

well no need to worry too much now, 3 people in the NTHell chatroom have sorted it and it will be fixed no later than 11 AM, if not we all invade the chatroom and give em hell ;).. the problem was that one of the ports was playing up on the router and it will fix it for everyone routing through there not just one area.

Good to see this may get fixed because its been annoying suddenly goind LD and gettin laggy as hell and NTL didtn say anything and deny all knowledge, tbh sound like typical profit whores who just dont wnt to spend any chas on fixing because they want more profit.

I made myself a sig but it just shows up as an URL when I add it to my signature in my profile, any ideas what's up? I added the right html tags and my Options allows me to see images rather than URLs but I cant see my pic :/

EDIT: Seems to work when I add it to the normal post, but adding it to a signature doesnt work =/

Well, 6am here and still no sign of an improvement.
I've had a trace on it for the last 21 hrs and the only thing was the ping time increased to 200+ from midnight to 01:30, so maybe they have been running some tests on it.
From previous posts, they have got 5 more hrs to sort it.

Seriously hope u r right but im gonna take the pesimistic view. Im at work now but can u keep me posted how it goes when u test . Looking forward to maybe having a DAOC dabble tonight.

Its nearly 10am here & I just logged in to test lag/PLoss & it's as bad as ever :(

Also received a reply from RightNow saying that as I hadn't contacted them in 48hrs then my problem is Solved - wtf !!

They didnt ask me to reply to them, they said this:

So my reply to them now is this:

You replied that the problem had been referred to your network people, then after 48hrs change my status to solved!!

Maybe u should read the following forum and you will see that a LOT of other people are having BIG problems connecting to the Excaliber Game Server:

well i doubt it is gonna be fixed by 11am, if they already looked at it as someone said already and we still got packetloss it looks like we are in for another day of it.
