It's excellent, but it is not as polished as the s7. Software for oxygen os still has some niggles and the camera is average when compared to the s7 which is the best I've ever seen on a phone. That said it's whether you want a top end phone for £300 or £650.
your thoughts on it? Was about to upgrade to this or S7+

I ordered a HTC Vive at the weekend because I heard they were putting up the price today (thanks Brexit ) So to make sure I can make use of it I've ordered a Radeon Fury NITRO to go with it.

With the Steam VR weekend sale it's been an expensive couple of days!

OLED is the way forwards now, bloody pricy though. Am still more than happy with my LCD however, only thing is it doesn't do 4K, so may upgrade and put the 50 in the bedroom. Need some source material first however...

Wireless digital transmission of audio from my mixer to a camera. Also sends timecode (other devices, you have to do that separately). £3500 for the pair of them but hopefully I should make that back in a couple of years. It essentially means I'm no longer connected to the camera via a big fat cable, so more freedom to move around.

Just to compliment my keyboard and mouse, I picked up the Kraken 7.1 Chroma headphones. Had a Doom sesh and they're brilliant.

I have one of these - its an LG - pretty cool - blacks are completely black - give out no light whatsoever

I'll get a better sesh tonight, but here's my assessment so far:

- well made, solid, comfortable, nicely match the other Chroma kit
- the 7.1 is very immersive, really good in-game sound and handles all the explosions and gunshots of any game I've tried. They're also surprisingly good with music.
- comfort levels are good for me, but I have small ears so they fit nicely inside the pads. Comfort is very subjective though, everyone's head and ears are different. I'd say I got a good 1 to 1.5 hours before I felt like taking them off for a rest, not because they were uncomfortable but because I was getting twitchy in my seat anyway.
- there's one flaw with them: the cable rubs on things and sounds travel into the ear cup too easily. It's annoying, but luckily you don't notice it when you're gaming because the sounds are generally much louder.

cheers for the extended info dudebacon. I too hate the cable thing. my current headphones (some roccat thing) are really uncomfortable even though the sound is fairly decent to the extent that I am back on my speakers. I'm kind of looking for a replacement headset, soooo...

Me too. I've been using pc speakers but would prefer a proper headset.

I bought some wireless ones which work fine but the wireless connection is flakes and has no mic which I thought it had. :(

I friend of mine just bought some Superlux HD668B headphones and he's been singing their praises. Might be worth checking out.

Teeds - update - played Doom for about 2 hours solid again and was getting a bit uncomfy at the 1 hour 45 minute mark. I'd say if you need to sit for 3 to 4 hours uninterrupted, then you might need to look elsewhere. For me, I don't really play for 1 to 2 hours at a time, so they're fine. Hope this helps.

I picked up a new Apple TV this morning. Since upgrading to PMS 1 my TV is being a cock and keeps caching media despite being on GB LAN and the server being under 15% load. So there is no logic behind the freezing. The PS4 was fine so decided on a dedicated media device. As I have loads of Apple it made sense and as with everything Apple the applications are really smooth. The Plex App seems to run a lot better than on the PS4 and is a lot better than the built in player on the LG.

After over 10 years of faithful service I'm retiring my Dell 2405FPW from everyday use because I just bought a Samsung U32E850R. It seems to tick all the boxes - decent colour reproduction (not the best but good enough), 4k, 32" (hopefully no scaling required as the box it's being used on is still on Windows 7 and I don't think they sorted scaling out until 10), USB 3.0 hub, a really versatile stand (portrait mode yay) and also Freesync. I wasn't planning on using it for gaming but... it's a 60hz panel and it's got Freesync so it'll do nicely for games that don't like 21:9 (Watch Dogs, I'm looking at you).

I've never had more comfy headphones than my old Astro A40s. Not properly wireless, as there is a (really nice flexy) cable to the mixamp, but super comfy and decent sound quality. Never used them as a headset so can't comment on mic quality.

Got halfway through the video before I decided that thing is WAY to big.

It's OK if you're sticking it in the back of a car and porting it to a campsite for a novelty item - because it does look cool - or if you've got porters to take it up the mountain for you. But carrying that thing around? You've got to be f00king kidding me.

My mini-trangia is the size of the fire at that things base, has a frying pan, a full pan and can cook a range of gourmet meals for two as well as boil water, whilst doing this sort of thing.

Yeah. I was tempted with a jetboil of sorts. Alpkit do a good 'un. But they're a little bigger and a little less versatile than my trangia.

Says the guy who's never owned one ;)

I find it much easier to use a hotel. They have kettles, coffee machines, even a bar where you can get a proper drink. There tends to be less of that tedious walking up hill as well.

Don't get me wrong I don't mind walking up hills, but I'd rather stop every 150 - 300 yards and hit the ball again :)

Just got myself an Amazon Fire stick with kodi! So nice being able to quickly see films or tv shows.
