That you dont eat all the fruit you put in a smoothy in one go. Like you done eat a banana half a punnet of respberries and a kiwi in one go. Which you could easily drink if made into a smoothy. Hence your consumption of sugar would be more than if you consumed the fruit in a normal manner.

A smoothy has the same sugar or more as a can of coke for example.

A. You're supposed to eat five a day anyway, so if you get it in one minute or five hours, so what?
B. The sugar in fruit isn't the same as the sugar in Coke; fructose is more easily managed by your body than refined sugars.
C. You don't just have to put fruit in smoothies; for instance I wouldn't eat a raw carrot in a million years but I can have it in a smoothie with say, pineapple and orange.

Sugar is sugar and still gives you a huge amount of calories for what it is. Adding veggies in makes it different but pure fruit smoothies are not good for you especially on a regular basis

ice, live yogurt, berries (usually raspberries or blueberries) banana/melon and flax seed/kale

Can't really compare the sugars in a coke to that of fruit, at least from my limited understanding they are different and the fruit has many additional benefits.

EDIT - the NHS advice from that BBC2 link says 150ml is fine and does count in the 5 a day. Which should actually be more like 12 a day, mostly green veg of course.

Sugar is sugar if it comes in fruit or its refined. Any yes it does count as five a day if you believe that arbitrary number that someone picked out of the air.

Its only an issue if you believe the drinking a smoothie effectively becomes an extra meal. That's the logic of the argument against; you don't get full and therefore its better to eat fruit rather than drink it because it lowers your overall calorific intake. However, if you don't eat more, then its not a problem. Bottom line for me is that I wouldn't eat fruit (don't like the texture of most fruit, never have) so if I want the nutrients, I'm going to have to drink it. Veggies is a bit more complex because I do eat some veggies, but even then nothing like I should; texture again. If I was a vegetarian I'd starve to death.

I bought a Garmin Edge 520 computer with an HRM, cadence and speed sensor. It's great. Fully programmable, the works :)

The nutribullet is supposed to use 50% greens (spinach, kale, cucumber) normally there is a very small amount of room left for fruit... Theoretically they recommend half a citrus fruit and then a combination of other fruits and nuts ie blueberries / raspberries (good for inflammation) or pineapple and mango... These do not use a whole fruit... Additionally nuts and spices ie ginger turmeric .... This is in no way similar to eating a banana a punnet of raspberries and a kiwi (which would be a shit load better than maxdonalds and fries). I am all for kids making smoothies at home rather than getting commerical ones as there is less sugar :) however if you are going to use it to wizz up some fruits with Ben and Jerrys as a base (instead of almond milk or coconut water) then there will be problems...

And I got the regular Z5 a few days ago. Also great :) And I got a fast charger, seeing as Sony are too cheap to supply one in the box...

I approve of both of the previous posts wholeheartedly :)

We went to the museum in Paris with Monet's waterlilies today, so got to try the camera on the Premium out in anger - very impressive, especially the 4K video.

I can also approve of the Z5, it's been a while since I had a phone that I only needed to charge every two days. Only thing I still don't like it the squared shape, makes it a bit more uncomfortable to hold.

I've had an orgy of nerdy awesome shit purchasing:

Razer BlackWidow Chroma - Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Razer DeathAdder Chroma - The World's Best Gaming Mouse

I've been after a new keyboard for a while, there's only so many "£20 shite Logitech specials" someone can buy. Since my mouse started to act wonky as well, it was ripe to get a matching mouse and keyboard - really liking the ability to sync the colours between the two. Very homosexual, but I actually like the background glow of low lit white LEDs.

In addition:

SL5000 - Vertagear

Very supportive for my occasionally problematic lower back - it's not a soft chair but it does support in all the right places, so I like the firm nature.

The most nerdy of all (perhaps):

Window Vac | Kärcher UK

Cleaning my windows and mirrors have never been such a breeze!

I have a Karcher pressure washer. I would like the window vac but the majority of the windows in this house have stupid little panes of glass so it just wouldn't work. :(

Fibre broadband (tomorrow).
Told Sky BB I was leaving for another deal. Got unlimited Fibre for £10/month. They estimate I'll get 34 megladons! We'll see.
