That is great, there is a DS video App on the Roku 3 so if this Transcodes fine it could be my new device if choice.
We have only tried the Apple iPAD version of the DS Video App, not the Android one. Only ever had one movie file out of around 90 that had an issue with sound only. Just downloaded another version. MP4 and MKV's is all I have tried and going to set the Audio streaming from iTunes this weekend.

I dunno why but the 214play is a torrenting beast. getting 7MB+ regularly on my infinity which should max around 10MB.
pretty happy, i think the best I got before was around 2-3.

Dutch national postage. It would seem they've rescheduled, but the online tracker says they're delivering today between 8 and 12 NL time (they have 9 minutes left) and that I can pick it up at the depot. No idea what to do tbh. The instant I go out the package will be delivered, so sayeth Sods Law.

This happens to me when I decide to take the day off to take the delivery and then go for a dump, 30 seconds into a lovely dump the doorbell goes. Fucking hate it.

I picked up the package from the depot on Saturday. The duty postman first denied having a package for me on grounds of "if you've not had a delivery card and it's not been delivered then it's still en-route sir", but to his credit he did check once I'd firmly stated that I expected the package on Thursday. Within 30 seconds he was back with my package.

He couldn't answer as to why the package was in the depot without me having at least one missed-delivery ticket, but hey ho I had it in my hands so meh.

Anyway, back on topic:

the packet that the postie was trying to keep for himself (cough) was this:

1 AMD FX-8350 4.00GHz 8MB AM3+
1 Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
1 Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 AMD 990X, SATA600 RAID
1 Corsair 2x4GB, DDR3, PC12800, CL9, Vengeance
1 Corsair Hydro H100i AMD & Intel

I built it up yesterday and installed win 7 pro so I could check out the performance based around my old gforce 560. It's pretty sweet tbh, and I am tempted to OC the heck out of it :)

If you remember, the discussion about stuff was in this thread here : https://forums.freddyshouse.com/threads/another-i-need-a-new-pc-thread-ahh.250683/

What did you think of the Corsair Hydro - I tried out the H80 and it was as noisy as a vacuum cleaner. I ended up swapping for a zalman LQ which was much quieter even with two fans on it.

It's pretty noisy on start, but once the computer gets going it regulates itself to near silence. At first I had no clue how to attach the fans to the pump/controller unit, as I had no clue the fan connecters actually had little plastic shields on them, which allowed connection to mobo fan connectors but not to the pumptroller thing. Directly connecting the fans to the mobo fan heads meant I had perfect cooling but also fans at 100% speed all the time 0_o Anyway, properly connecting the things together got rid of that.

I have the same Corsair case as OD (Air 540) has (see post above, OD actually inspired me to get it tbd, cheers blud) and it's pretty sweet re space and airflow, but its reasonably noisy as it is really optimized for max air and not silence. Also the Corsair case fans are anything but silent tbh. Still, when gaming -which is the only application I have for this rig- I cannot hear it over the speaker volumes.

I sometimes hear the fans on the H100i spin up, for example when I run a benchmark program, but usually it's unnoticable against the fans in the case and on the GFX card (Nvidia 570). Considering the general noisiness of the case, I have read on other forums that people have swapped out the Corsair branded fans for others which would run quieter.

Ordered all the bits to build my first quadcopter last night. It's only a little one so no mounting cameras or anything but there's so much to learn I thought I'd start small!

Here's the frame I went for, what do you reckon @Chilly ?

I still need to get a soldering Iron and do a load of reading. Shipping will probably take a couple of weeks so I have time. Pics to follow!

Looks cool. The small ones are really robust and very manoeuvrable, perfect for beginners.

Quads are great fun have a DJI Phantom 2 Vision with a Gro Pro Camera I play around with. Would love to build my own at some point. Maybe in Summer when the family are away in UK/Thailand.

Is a nice case, going to cost me £40 to do the rest of the external mods I want to do though :(

ALSO, Corsair do 120mm silent/high pressure fans (http://www.corsair.com/en/cpu-cooli...e-edition-high-static-pressure-120mm-fan.html) which are meant to be fantastic. Will be filling up with those eventually ;)

ah cheers dude, tbh that will make the case a lot quieter! I should say I am used to sitting beside noisy kit, but frankly if I can avoid it then I do.

edit: I just measured the noise coming off the comp with a soundmeter app I d/ld' for my phone, and it weighs in between 40 and 45 dB. I know a phone is nothing like a real sound pressure meter, but it's good enough to give me an indication.

Last I heard they were getting shipped fairly promptly nowadays. I keep being tempted to get one.
