Just realised I didn't actually buy TdC's keyboard! I got this one which is very similar it seems.

you can purchase my *actual* keyboard for 745K squids. there's proof of use all over it :)

I want a new keyboard, the spacebar on my Logitech Illuminated Keyboard is givingupbigtime.

I want mechanical, I think with the brown Cherry switches. But it has to not look like a gamer-oriented, over-styled piece of shit. And it has to not be some hipster wank with no markings on the keys (I'm looking at you, Das Keyboard). I *would* like illuminated keys though, preferably white.

Edit - and not be £140 (although that does look perfect). The TKL model looks decent as well but I'm not paying £110 for a keyboard with no numpad.

Double edit - in other news I got my Note 3. The picture really doesn't do that screen justice, it's a thing of beauty I tells ya. I watched a 1080p encode of Despicable Me 2 in bed the other day, it's really something else. And CyanogenMod is just around the corner, there are already some unofficial ROMs floating around!

on keyboards, I must say that my current mechanical is pretty...thick. ofc it follows that mechanicals have to be a bit thicker to contain the switch array, whereas a keybord with a technology like dome or scissors can naturally be much thinner. I have become so used to lying my hands flat on the table and typing with my fingers lightly curved over the leyboard surface that I notice some difficulty with the new 'board because I have to "float" my hands over it.

Luckily the cable is pretty long, and I have still to experiment with for example the keyboard in my lap. Also, my current office table is not optimally set up with respect to height and how I sit. Ideally I would like it to be so low that I can rest my forarms on the table surface and have my hands/fingers cover say...80% of the keyboard keys from that position. I know sounds pretty geeky but I've already had a fairly serious bout of RSI -back when I just started uni- and it was hell. I don't want to go through that again.

I do like the Illuminated Keyboard from Logitech, it's very skinny. It feels like a laptop keyboard but more solid, bigger and just better.

It's served me well and it has been a joy to type on, it's just gone a bit... spongey. I don't want anything fancy but I do make use of the numpad quite a bit. I've never heard of any of these mechanical kb companies, who makes the best? Ducky? Das Keyboard? Deck? Cooler Master? Someone else?

I suppose it's all a matter of how strong your inner nerd is in the end. I like my CM storm kbd but I also like it because it was almost 70 dollah cheaper than the das keyboard while having all the n-key and cherry switch gubbins.

I can recommend Filco for mechanical keyboards. I've had mine for years and I love it like a son. I don't think they're any cheaper than that CM Storm one though. You could maybe try Leopold or Rosewilll if you don't want to spend too much; I think they are on the cheaper end of mechanical keyboards.

It's like a bloody filing cabinet! Space inside for 20x 3.5" drives + 4 more in 3 of the 5.25" bays up top. The funny thing is, I'm going to put a MicroATX board in it. :)

Nice case, very nice case.

I'm looking at a Corsair 540d - But the HDD bays scare me at the bottom.

I love my Corsair mechanical keyboard. Its excellent to type on.
I'm still getting used to it though as they keys are a touch smaller than my previous keyboard.
It feels very solid and well made.

I got the gun metal grey one with the Cherry Brown switches.

You can turn the key lights off or make them brighter.
You can also just have it so it lights up the arrow keys and the keys 1,2,3,4 and A, W, S, D

Wrong way around Rob, ps/2 to USB is what he needs and I've never found them. You can get usb to ps/2 easily as you've shown though.

edit:// ahh I see the second link should do it. First time I've seen them, be interesting to see if they work.

As @Ch3tan said, I need a PS/2 to USB converter, I believe that due to voltage stuff they are not available.
