No but it was illustrative of the point I was making about thinking before you throw abuse around about who might be on the receiving end of it rather than just assuming everyone you encounter in game is like you.

maybe the person who got insulted need to realize they are doing something to piss that other person of then?and maybe they should get a grasp and stop doing things that piss of others ppl?

However if you get sworn at by some random player for just playing the game how exactly are you meant to "get a grasp" and stop doing it? Maybe we should all just stop playing in case we annoy Eruptix and co.

To continue the pub analogy - a man walks into a bar (ouch), orders a pint and sits down.

I have no quarrel what-so-ever with anyone adding on anyone in the normal RvR zones - but please, pretty please just leave Agramon to the full groups.

Sure when the fgs stop 'adding' on sieges for easy rps - and please don't tell me they don't it is extremely common for a fg to hit the attackers at a siege - why this form of 'adding' is ok within their moral code yet other forms are not reamins a mystery to me.

but there's plenty of games out there that do this - guild wars for example, can probably get much fairer fights there. Or tribes. Or battlegrounds in WoW.

What makes daoc so special is you have three _realms_ playing against each other - massively multiplayer and all that. Thousands of people working towards the same goals. How many gank groups are there out in any one night? Compare that to how many people are online playing...

Actually, the fact that the game accommodates 8v8 playstyle probably does add to its "special"ness but it's more due to it accomodating it within the rest of the game but not making it the only way to play the game.

Maybe some of the add-whiners should learn something from that.

Noone has EVER asked me nicely not to add, it has always been abusive. I would be more likely to respect such a request but at the same time given the speed at which fights take place it would not always be guaranteed that you would notice that it was someone who had not been abusive in the past.

I still find it wrong that you think yelling at someone for playing the game within the CoC is acceptable behaviour regardless of whether you have asked nicely or not.

I'm sure the 8v8 people clock up more fight time but it never used to be just the gg's out there - if anything they've driven everyone else away from RvR

I've never been asked politely not to add by any gank group. If I do see a gank group, and if I feel like adding, I will add despite how much you'll cry on IRC or freddyshouse because lets face it you don't want fun fights you're all just chasing the same thing, the same light at the end of the tunnel which you'll never reach and that thing is infinate RPs or however many you'll get satisfyed with, I'm sure people wouldn't give a toss if you had a set amount of RPs for every enemy you killed.

There are plenty of ppl that thinks it´s all fine with the adding and all that. Is it so hard to not add on a fight if you know they play the game for the fun of fg vs fg when you have lots of other players that don´t mind it?

You say 'those who enjoy FG vs FG fights are thought of as leets'. Well lets face it mate, why do you enjoy FG fights? Its the best and most efficient way to earn RPs. If I leached on your fight, you would loose some RPs, therefor you get angry and start throwing your toys out of the pram. As I said in my earlier post, if there was a set amount of RPs for every kill, can you honestly tell me you'd care whether or not people add?

The issue of adding vs not adding is actually secondary here - it cannot be resolved and I believe is most like a clash between two religions. However, it is perfectly possible to be polite and respectful to someone whose views you do not share.

Personally, I have done that by avoiding Agramon as much as possible and never reporting any of the abuse I have received to RightNow even though in some cases it would result in a small holiday for those concerned.

However, as others have said each piece of abuse directed at me simply makes it more likely I will set out deliberately to add on those who are abusive at every opportunity.

Some do, some don`t. adding is a GAME MECHANIC, part of the game imho.

We all know by now there is no such thing as `game balance`. artificial constructions like 8 vs 8 only benefit the `elite` cause it makes their `skill` (rr, ml`s, group setup, tempaltes, whatever) shine without the opponents being able to counter superior skill with the only alternative, being numbers.

how much % of the population does the `leet` brigade form ? 10% ? 20 %?

I think the leet are a far bigger enoying factor to the casuals than vice versa tbh.
