Basically yer they got nerfed, but if you cast a couple on support (like I expect you do now) I doubt anyone is gonna bother to kill them, even with less hits, and surely a 60 second pet is better than an ae root, considering your body sorc can ae root :)
I mean it is 60 seconds + a faster run speed + more melee damage and immune to mezz and root.

as far as im told confusion does kill the pets insta but cant state the fact as i havnt tried it =(

that's this patch btw....

they don't die with the caster. Only way a theurg can actually do any damage.

Edit: bah 10000 people beat me to it already ;)
the "You lose control of your pet." was cropping up - seemed to be when the pet died rather than timed out... doesn't happen anymore.


Earth pets will last a long time if you ignore them like now - however you can kill them fairly easily now.

Higher level earth theurgists should be ok - they can tank whilst the pets do damage ;) but at lower levels if they keep the reduced hp on the 30s pets (which is a nerf, nothing less) then the theurg will be rather crippled in PvE.

That said theurgs were pretty evil in lower level PvE, just above level 35 earth kinda got pretty naff solo :) (good in groups of course)

With archers penetrating bt, assassins penetrating bt, overpowered dw styles, savages, assist groups, earth pets dieying when enemy looks them due their patch 1.65 low hit points, you think earth spec is an option for theurs?
think i'll go for 50 cold 20 earth, at least i'll have a nice aoe root (about 10 secs root to tanks because ultrahigh resist and determination)

I don't think earth pets are so weak that a enemy tank will be able to run to his support and kill the 2 or 3 chasing him, and if he does and it takes him 10 seconds then you have effectively removed him and the healer from the fight for 10 seconds :)

I had a tri-spec theurg which had the best of every pet. It was fine through all the levels up to around 40 and then things tailed off. Spamming pets at mobs was slow and mana inefficent so I decided to start using my nukes a bit more.
The issue with the pets being gimped for PvE because of the low hp's I think is valid I think because 350-400hp's is not a great amount and as it was said a few times before, once the first pet dies you've got a mob chasing you. However for PvE most theurgs will move to air nukes and undead mobs and just start nuke and kite.
The fastest way to level still will still be groups though so it's all kinda a moot point.

If I still had my theurg, I wouldn't respec it because of the pets. I rarely used my pets even in RvR unless I was soloing in Jamtland/Breifine and spammed air pets. Pets in RvR is not as useful now as just nuking the wossnames off the nearest enemy caster/healer.

Theur have not ae damage, give ae stun to theurs. And ae damage y earth wizz is 4 secs cast, how much crap damage could earth wizz deal in 10-11 secs less reisst and determination with that cast time?
