and its only when I connected to Dark ages of Camelot european servers.



make loong storie short I play daoc on us to the end of this month
play SWG to the end of this month.

This weekend I desided to reopen my very old daoc account here on the GOA servers due to irl aspects of life I have a hard time play on the US servers more

Ok the subpage was working to my surprise and Goa activated my account on 15 sec.

I logged in too start play I think I was in the game around 5 sec max when I was linkdead. Ok relogg then in game 15 -20 sec before I go Linkdead again this going on like this like 20minutes before I could stay ingame more then 30m time then LD (LD = linkdead)

Is this normal now days ??

I got no vira or spysoftware installed today Tuesday the longest period of time I been allowed to be in the game have been 10m. then LDs and another ld´s and on top of that account still logged in wait 1 m to try again.

No response from Right Now

Any clues and any gm can comment this as the connection betwenn my comp and the server have been scanned and no routers or nods are blinking ??

Well with the introduction of the Gorre test server and problems with Opentranisit, etc there have been increased lag and LD issues for a lot of people.

I had that kind of problem with DAOC mmyself when I first started playing on the US servers and 10mins was a looong play time before going LD. My computer was simply getting overheated (I need a new fan too) and this was causing the LD. Try lowering the visual specs or whatever in options so there set very very low, make sure you're not running anything else at the same time and don't run it in windowed mode.

Btw what kind of spec is your pc? Did you check firewall/virus control settings?

(btw impressed that you actually managed to reach subs pages in 1 day - after 5 days i thought ithe validate button was just a hoax )

+ Radeon 9800 + 18 internal fans. and a 42" Plasma.
+ hotplug powercore

I got 1gb internet connection.

all other game mmorpgs work like a charm.


ps, antivirasoftware /firewall also work as intended.

The usual:

Check GXF and Sound all drivers and DX9.0c

Get the manufacturers drivers for your network card (if applicable)

Reinstall DAoC from scratch.

Its been grim lately with lag spikes, but not LDing to that degree.

:eek2: Youve hijacked some university backbone connection? Or you mean 1mb/10mbit etc?

About the ld's, run pingplotter to the gameserver (dont remember the IP, but its in the connection screen so just write it down next time your trying to connect), when you see where the break is (v.high ping or packetloss) you call your ISP and tell them about it, so that they can see about making your routing better.

Please post your traceroute. Also, afaik there aren't any providers yet that offer gbit internet connections. 100 mbps backbones are the max, and those are usually reserved for providers themselves. I may be wrong though, so, out of interest, who is your ISP? I think that you may be confusing your LAN connection with your actual internet connection.

I'm hoping he means the LAN spd...not webspd cause i cant imagine those spds anywhere...cept for REALLY big companies or institutions...and even then its..umm...a lot.

before Gorre was setup for Open NF Beta the LDs were bearable, after Gorre they got annoying, today it's unplayable :/

Grundfos (Danish company) is linked up with way more than 800mb, way more than 1gb (1gb seems slow compared to their speed), I might be wrongly informed of their internet speed tho, might just be a stupid rumor, but I also think it is a add-up of all their connections

And I kinda dont believe a 1gb private line anyway, how much wouldnt that cost?
