You couldn't be bothered to give a reason for your ratings on your own "poll"? :/

I might as well give the reasons too then...

Johnny Depp 7-I think he's generally underated, i appriciate his often unusual film choices, good actor.
Sean Penn 8-Much like Johnny Depp, but i'll give him an extra point for being more versatile. Best work-Carlitos Way and Dead Man Walking.
Brad Pitt 7-Again underrated, but often too one-dimensional. Playes one caracter too often.
Denzel Washington 9-Should of one the oscar for Hurricane, not Training Day. Brilliant actor., always confincing.
Tom Hanks 10-Can't be beaten, modern day Jimmy Stewart.
Jimmy Stewart 10-Vertigo and Rear Window-Two of the best films ever made.
Russell Crowe 8-Underated(again), check out the Insider, his best work to date.
Marlon Brando 10-Best.Actor.Ever.
Robert De Niro 10-Third Best, i should really give him an 8 though, considering some of his latest film choices.
Edward Norton 9-Best actor of his generation, will be a ten.
Al Pacino 10-I think he's better actor than Robert De Niro, but only marginally so.
Kevin Spacey 9.5-He is Keizer Soze.

OK - just so no-one can say I newbie flame :)

Johnny Depp - 6 - Overrated. Film choice is often style over substance.

Sean Penn - 9 - Fantastic. Pain in the ass self-indulgent twat though. Shame he doesn't do more films.

Brad Pitt - 2 - Shit. The bloke just plain CAN'T ACT. He relys on the fact that he's very good looking - even hollywood insiders say he's got no talent apart from being "the talent".

Denzel Washington - 9 - Genuinely a very good actor. Nice chap to boot apparently. But don't lie and tell me that the fact that he's so well-regarded is nothing to do with the fact he's black and the politically correct brigade campaign tirelessly for him.

Tom Hanks - 8 - V. Good. Shame he don't do comedy anymore. I'd give him a 5 for film choice though - he's turned into a Robin Williams and does sentimental pap nowadays.

Jimmy Stewart - 10 - What can I say. He fucking ruled.

Russell Crowe - 6 - Again, overrated. Yes he was fantastic in LA Confidential. But the Oscar for Gladiator??!!! You must be fucking joking.

Marlon Brando - 8 - Once the great white hope. Now the great white whale. On The Waterfront was fucking great (he even ruled in Apocalypse now) - but nowadays's he's just a phatboy.

Robert De Niro - 8 - Great again. Shame he doesn't really have much range anymore. And his recent film choice is almost as bad as John Travolta's old ones.

Edward Norton - ? - Seen him in some stuff and thought he was great again. But not seen him in enough to make a judgement.

Al Pacino - 8 - More range than De Niro, not *quite* as good at certain things as De Niro. Great actor tho.

Kevin Spacey - 9 but going down - Think he's fucking brilliant - but at the end of the day he's always "kevin spacey" and not his character. I mean - how much difference is there between Lester Burnham and Keyser Soze? (Apart from he's a sneaky crip in the latter) :)

There ya go. Happy now? Can't see the point really - but I'm at work and at an impasse......

Johnny Depp: 7 - He's ok and I admire his choice of films sometimes, although his accent in From Hell is a bit dodgy.
Sean Penn: 7 - Not much to say, but he tends to be ok is most things.
Brad Pitt: 5 - Liked him in Snatch and Oceans Eleven, but he relies too much on his looks.
Denzel Washington: 9 - He is the bollox.
Tom Hanks: 8 - Makes parts very believable but is a bit too soppy for me sometimes.
Jimmy Stewart: ? - Whats he been in? (I've never heard of him).
Russell Crowe: 6 - Was good in Gladiator and other stuff but gets minus marks for being a prick.
Marlon Brando: 8 - Was very good but is now a fat bastard.
Robert De Niro: 9 - De Niro roxx
Edward Norton: 8.5 - Very fucking good actor.
Al Pacino: 8.9 - He also fucking roxx.
Kevin Spacey: 9.1 - Probably one of the most interesting actors around today.

I'm sorry but Russell Crowe's performance in the Insider was absolutely amazing, even when he fell over he was great, I aren't a big fan of him and Edward Norton kicks all their asses in the acting stakes.

Robin Williams is a good actor, I'd rather watch him acting than Johnny Depp any day.

Fave actor?

Harrison Ford. The man just fucking OWNS.

Closely followed by Sean Connery. :D

Russell Crowe isn't bad, but doesn't seem to have any range at all.

Then there's Sam Jackson, just too cool an actor for words :)

Then Laurence Fishbourne - The only man I've seen who can pull off a black Hamlet.

Kevin Spacey is brilliant, most of his performances are conveyed through nuance and inflection, and as such is a very subtle actor, but a brilliant one.

Tom Hanks imo is overrated. Everyone thinks he's the greatest actor alive, I just think he's an average actor tbh.

I just want to know why those actors were selected :(
trouble with Robin Williams is that most people only remember/have seen his slapstick movies.

When I refer to Williams I'm speaking of Good Will Hunting, What Dreams May Come etc.

And John Cusack is average, nothing to get excited about.

Bah.

Arnie is the daddy.

And you know it.

Arnie is a good action "actor", which isn't really acting as such, just looking the part.

Look at Conan the Barbarian (out now on DVD) - great film, but it's virtually a silent movie. The films dialogue, strung together, wouldn't last more than 3 mins.

Good Will Hunting is mindnumbingly awesome.

I like Sean Connery loads, but I didn't think he could actually act until Finding Forrester, which I think echoes GWH, but only in a good way.

I also enjoy the work of Arnie, Bruce Willis and Will Smith, but is it acting? Hmmm.

Well, I was a sucker for Gross Point Blanke, and he delivered an amazing performance in Being John Malkovitich.

I can't say as I liked BJM much, watchable, and an interesting concept, but not my cup of tea tbh.

Thought Cameron Diaz put in a good performance in it though.

Catherine Keener. She's not really a prolific actress, seems to stick to lower budget films.

Johnny Depp 6 -what I've seen him is was good, except scissorhands, anything with Winoda Ryder in it is smellypoo!
Sean Penn ? - dunno
Brad Pitt 9 - I think Brad Pitt is frowned upon because he is a good looking bloke, he is actually a hard nut in real life, and if you think about it he's always trying to lose the pretty boy image in his films, in snatch for example, the scruffy pikey image isn't the most handsome in the world is it?
Denzel Washington 5 - not a big fan of his work
Tom Hanks 9 - liked him in castaway
Jimmy Stewart 8 - not seen much of his stuff believe it or not
Russell Crowe 4 - Gladiator, nothing else
Marlon Brando 2 - fat fucker
Robert De Niro 7 - not a massive fan of his work
Edward Norton 9 - fantastic actor for the new generation
Al Pacino 2 - anything he's been in bores me
Kevin Spacey 9 - always a good actor
