Just checking.

Are we boycotting all films he has been involved in?

Meh, I'm not boycotting because quite frankly before he was outted some stuff might have been ok. Not going to let his rapist royalty badge ruin my movie viewing.

I don't see why, he was clearly so busy perving and raping women he couldn't of spent any time being involved in producing films.

Seems Corey Feldman is going to out the pedo ring in Hollywood - inb4 he's found dead, that's a lot of powerful people that will likely want him to remain quiet.

Jesus fuck..Weindtein is one fucked up individual, using your position and power to seduce women is one thing, this guy raped women who were too scared to report it because it would ruin their careers and define them as victims.
The fucket should be shot.

Oh I don't think he'll worm his way out of this one, it's gained too much exposure, he is fucked its just a matter of when.

As it's coming out Harvey Weinstein is basically the Jimmy Saville of Hollywood.... only he targetted woman and not kids (that we know of so far)

It's only come out because of the Weinstein stuff. There have been rumours flying around about Spacey for years but his response to this is pretty pathetic (and a transparent attempt at deflection by coming out for the first time in the second paragraph). "Sorry if I tried to rape you but I'm gay now, isn't that cool?"

I hadn't read his statement, that is quite pathetic. I think his career is done, with the weinstein stuff Hollywood will likely want to distance itself from anything to do with sexual abuse.

Yeah, I liked the "But I'm gay at the moment" bit too, because that makes it all OK.

I also have a bit of a problem with him saying, "I don't remember that happening but sorry anyway"

Like sorry is just a response that makes it all better...if it did indeed happen, could be a chancer for all we know, making sorry even emptier.

The problem with allegations in public is that they require a public response, regardless of their veracity.

So, what's he to do? Ignore it? I think "I don't remember it, but I'm truly sorry if it did happen" is pretty much the only response possible in this situation. Pretty much *anything* he says is going to have a load of people going "nope, don't accept that".

Whilst we need to protect and help people who've been sexually assaulted there's a climate of witch-hunt going on at the moment. Do we really think that every single one of the allegations that are being bandied around are either truthful or fair?

I can't see a solution tbh.

Interesting headline. - Rose McGowan claims she was offered $1m hush-money.

Which is interesting, on the face of it. But what I find more interesting is this:

The actor allegedly had previously signed a $100,000 settlement with Weinstein in 1997 over the incident, but says that she discovered this summer that the agreement did not include a confidentiality clause
So, he's scum. She settled, which is a shame, probably because of the fact that she thought there'd be no legal redress. Totally OK with this.

That there was no confidentiality clause is interesting. The fact that here was another million dollar offer is also interesting - who approached who and why? I mean, something twenty years ago, were you having a browse through some legal documentation and realised there was no confidentiality clause? Why hadn't this been put to bed a long time ago?

So this:
The actor says that she initially responded to Weinstein’s offer with her own counter-offer of $6m, partly as a way of raising money towards paying for her career as a multimedia artist and partly as a means of torturing the producer. However, one day after the New York Times published an explosive investigation detailing decades of alleged abuse by Weinstein, she decided to reject the offer outright. “I was like – ew, gross, you’re disgusting, I don’t want your money, that would make me feel disgusting,” she said.
So, there's been an initial approach by someone (my only thought was that McGowan found it out and went - your contract was shit - give me more money) - and an offer of $1m was made - probably stipulating a redo the original contract with a confidentiality clause.

She said "fuck you, $6m" and was prepared to go along with that until she found out about all the other allegations.

I'm not sure exactly how I feel about that behaviour. I guess if you're a victim of sexual assault then you want to stick it to your abuser by any means necessary, but it's skirting along the lines of blackmail to go back to someone 20 years after you've settled and demand more cash, only to back out when you realise that the number's up.

I've no sympathy for Weinstein and don't have any real beef with McGowan. It's just that the whole situation is so ugly. :(

I was with him until he started asking for cash at 5 min. If he has this info just make it public, don't beg for cash to relaunch a flagging career ffs.

Lol, of course it's not!

'House of Cards' Is Ending — But Netflix Says It's Not Because of the Kevin Spacey Allegations

Yea I have to admit I was like... wait, what? too.. the 'security' part i can understand but security doesn't cost $10,000,000 - nor does a movie that would basically just be naration of him outting people.

I have no doubts that he was abused in Hollywood as was Corey Heim but to cash in on your own abuse is pretty sad given the circumstances as a whole.

I like how the Sun lead with "Gay US star in battle to save career"

As if the gay bit is pertinent to the fact.

While I realise Spacey used it in a clumsy attempt at deflection, I don't think it matters one bit to the case/event.

Special Emmy award for Spacey withdrawn

Right, so everyone has basically presumed his guilt because a guy said it happened all those years, despite there being zero evidence, zero witnesses, no trial and the alleged perp saying that he didn't remember it happening. It's starting to get very murky indeed. Guilt presumed.

If Spacey turned round and sued for defamation, and won, would everyone be falling over themselves to bring him back into the fold?

I guess its like Barrymore, no case to answer, career over, although in that case it appears to be plod at fault, as well as the tabloids and howling masses.

Well it'll be just like Weinstein. Everyone in the industry knew about it but kept silent. This will probably be just be the first story of many to come out publicly and they are simply getting ahead of the news to come.

Ok, next question then. If it was such an open secret in the industry, why the fuck give such a cunt a special emmy.

Because until it's made fully public it's just business as usual in Hollywood. Imagine how many kiddie fiddlers have gotten away with it over the years?

I guess the other reason is people are so shit scared of having their careers damaged, no one opens their gob/outs them.
