I really think all of you slagging off iPhone users are a little short sighted. My iphone 4 still functions well despite the fact that it has been down the toilet.... I'm finally replacing it with an iPhone 6 which will be a great phone.

With reference to the stigma some of you attribute to iPhone owners, in the circles I work in most of the professionals are forced to have Samsung as the iPhone is too expensive, but they all have iPhones as personal phones...

Up until this month the company I work for not small c.190k employees have finally converted from blackberry for email to iOS or android so now I no longer need to carry round 3 phones. I used a blackberry, a Sony E, followed by a Samsung) and my trusty iPhone 4.... I can tell you that both android phones I've used in the last 3 years were fucking awful, and the blackberry served a purpose. Now I will have two iPhones ( because I am senior enough to have one \o/), the ease of use and app quality mean that in my incredibly busy working / personal life I don't need to worry whether my phone is going to do what I need it to do or not. Interestingly sales guys in our company have Samsung phones and iPads so that company apps can be demonstrated using both...

We can all sit here and debate all day about the benefits of A vs I but the choice is personal, no one here will be able to use their super powers of persuasion or childish mudslinging to change a personal purchasing decision :)

Interestingly Callous you should be aware that the U2 album only ended up in purchased area of iTunes and not on any of my devices.... Not sure what others were doing incorrectly :)

Couldn't agree more Yoni - most Big Brand bashing is merely childish fanboism thinly veiled as 'knowledge'. Just replaced my 4S with a 6 (as it wasn't more expensive than a 5s) and I love it.

Most of my audio systems at home are Air Play enabled which slightly forced my choice somewhat, but I choose most of my devices based on Audio and Music features and so far I've yet to find anything better than AirPlay for pure audio streaming (I accept the fact that it doesn't do multi room which I don't need anyway).

Heres a reason I enjoy my Oneplus One.
( Max brightness, 1 min screen timeout )

Meh. Galaxy s4

Edit, that's probably accurate if I just leave it alone for a few days, I left it in my work drawer over the weekend once on around 10% and it was still alive Monday morning. (though 4 days on 15% is a tad optimistic!)

Haha Apple spaz!

:D

But haven't you had to stick with an iPhone because all your stuff will only work with said device? Where if you had a different brand of phone you could pick and choose what features you wanted in a handset knowing it will still work with the stuff you already have at home? Just saying, I don't know what aids play is, I am just assuming here, assuming it is an Apple thing.

I have often said I like the handsets I just hate iTunes and the restrictions it places on you, oh and I hate how blind and obsessed Apple users seem to become, it is very strange. Present company excluded of course.

I aren't a fan boi, I personally see iPhone owners as the Trekkies of the mobile phone world. Does any of that make any sense? I aren't sure I read what you put @leggy :(

Hey dude :)

I couldn't choose any brand as I personally don't like Android and am forced to use an android handset for work. But like anything, it's all personal preference and NOTHING else :)

AirPlay is an apple protocol for wireless streaming but it's now open and is available on a lot of portable speakers and audio systems. If it was implemented in android without the need to Root, then I maybe I'd be more inclined to buy an android handset. Saying that, I just prefer the iPhone.

With regard to iTunes: I never use it and never will.

I see the obsession and elitism with all brands and operating systems. This is mostly blind ignorance on the part of any consumer as it means nothing in reality. Maybe Apple users are worse because there is more of them but there's no accounting for the fools of this world :) .

True dat chum, true dat.

Oooh while we go on a Fight Club thing, and I know it was sort of before all this but the Tyler speech always makes me think he is on about Apple or MS.

I know you say in the next post that you don't use iTunes, but you can multi room from iTunes directly, just not from individual devices

Anybody looking at the Nexus 6?

I will be but I won't if the rumours of the monstrous screen are true and it really will have to have a better camera on it. If LG aren't involved (heard it could be Motorola) I may have to think again.

My full fat Z3 is here tomorrow :) After several years of being dull and going for the Black Xperias, this time I've gone for Copper. Looks lovely.

Now I've got a bit more time, I can tell you more about what a fantastic bit of kit the Z3 is. It's a lot like the Z, but has been improved in every single way. The screen is now, frankly jaw dropping, lovely deep rich colours (with none of the day glo nonsense Samsung seem to love), and if you're one of those weirdos who likes to look at their phone from 90 degrees, the viewing angles are spot on too. I compared it to an iPhone 6 screen and there is very little in it at all, high praise imo.

The battery life is ridiculous. It will last 2 days on a single charge easily, and if you knock it into Ultra Stamina mode (or Nokia mode as I call it), it claims you can get about 15 days out of it. It turns most of the features off so it's pretty much just a dumb phone, but very useful if you're without a charger for extended periods of time. I took it off charge 24 hours ago, still on 56% battery, with everything on and screen cranked up to full brightness.

Oh, and the Copper finish is lush. Closer to Bronze imo, but looks pretty classy and different.

The only major downside to the phone is the lack of full 4g band support, it only supports the EE and 3 4g bands, apart from that it's fantastic.

I couldn't care less about 4G until they have realistic prices. EE are very good at providing a brilliant signal but I aren't paying their fucking prices for 4G

Sounds good to me and a bargain.

Jesus some of those pictures look stunning for phone images. Is it good in everyday use Evil Cow? Is the phone basically an LG G2 but newer and cheaper?

I aren't a brand snob so if it does the job and is rootable (which it is because you did it the other day) I may be tempted.......if I can get an invite......and sell my Nexus 5.

Aye they are only good though because of the company that makes the sensor :)

Haven't played a massive amount with the camera on the Z3, seems pretty good from what I've seen so far. 3 out of the 4 main flagships (S5, Z3 and iPhone 6) all seem to have similarly good cameras, so not sure if I'd pick a phone based on that alone. I'm personally more of an audio guy, and I can tell you that, in this area, the Z3 is fucking uber. Supports high definition audio files, and the sound quality is bloody superb, clear and punchy, with lots of detail. I listened to the best of Dire Straits earlier through the phone speakers, and it never got uncomfortable to listen to, never tinny, and again, lots of detail. As an all round package, I really do think the Z3 is tough to beat.
