Hmm anyone know how I can insert a table neatly?

OK am I missing any phones that I should be considering. Also anyone got specific recommendations. Wife would prefer it not to be bigger/heavier than the iPhone 6/Nexus 5 bracket which does rule out some of these.

I don't particularly like this forum software, so I'd say: by posting an image file. text formatting in tables is not something any of the forums ( forii?) do well tbh :-/

OK How's this for not hurting people's eyes?! The larger phones like the OneplusOne and Nexus 6 are kind of ruled out unless the wife decides to take my Nexus 5 and I were to go for a larger phone. They still seem very large though.

yeah chumlar kinda what I felt when I had the LG G3 in my hands. I was like "wtf?" it's so big it's not even a phone any more, more like small tablet. Much more chuffed with my Z3 Compact tbh.

Nexus 6 is now massively overpriced imho given the very revisionist specification over the 5.

Sorry the Z3 compact is there but for some reason I've mislabelled it as Sony Xperia M8 Compact!

Yes, it's absolutely gorgeous in the photos. You'd have to be blind, crazy or a blind crazy fanboy to not like it.

One question on the OPO, how easy to flash a completely stock ROM? I would want an untarnished, completely vanilla OS if possible.

It comes with Cyanogen stock, there's no random bloatware. You don't realllly need to flash a custom rom on it.

Unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery ( TWRP ), copy the rom onto your phone and then flash from recovery.

chumlar, it's the best phone ever. one caveat: you can tell Sony loves the far-eastern market. Android's riddled with all kinds of cutesy apps (some actually kinda cool, but a guarantee one shot use tbh), and Sony has the "xperia center whatzit gizmo" which is basically every single online service and social thingy ripped off and recreated in Sony's image. You can't turn it off, and you can't uninstall it (all disabled in the OS) and it pops up every now and then to remind you it's there. Like the herps tbh. And people wonder why users root their phones eh? I've been reading all kinds of Sony forums and online help things where basically everyone ever is screaming at the techs begging to be allowed to turn off/uninstall the Xperia shit and the bottom line is a curt "No, suck it up, bitches.".

Only Xperia app I've noticed continually announcing its presence is the Xperia Privilege thingy, easy enough to dismiss. It only really annoyed me when it turned up on my Z, saying the Z3 was available now.

Although it clearly worked, as I now have a Z3. And it is lush. PS4 Remote Play is out today too.

On the z i could disable all the inbuilt apps, can you not do that or at least force close then and disable notifications for them?

Root it!

Edit - see if Towel Root has been updated to support your phone Teedles. You don't have to wipe your data with that.

You can turn off notifications on a per app basis in settings. Have you tried deleting / freezing the Sony social media thingy with Titanium Back up Pro? Obviously need to be rooted for Titanium.

Why dont you just root it then? Then you can freeze the apps you dont want. I've frozen most of the Sony stuff.

Sadly the Camera and the on device answering machine are so good i've not ripped Xperia off my Z1C yet, still hoping someone sticks on device answering into CM at some point!
