The conversation where you got your facts wrong about a subject that you have no idea about? Yeah, it was thrilling.

Please feel free to counter my argument.

Oh wait, it's always the same with you. Insult me and provide no argumenet disproving me in a mature way. Condemn my views without expressing your own. Question my facts and produce no facts yourself. Hide behind the posts of others because you can't have a conversation with me. Say I have no idea about a particular subject when you contribute nothing to it.

Ignoring you and a few other worthless posters. Atleast I won't be giving trolls the attention that is absent from their real lives.

Ok Ok.

Some facts, seeing as you haven't taken the time to read the article.

The Newspaper article (that appears to have been written by a child) states that the event would take place on either the 30th or the 31st of August (they aren't sure) and that it would start at 10:15 in the local park.

The disturbance happened at 7:30, not in the park but in the street.

Anyone with half a braincell would deduce that the two events are quite clearly unrelated.

What gayness is this? Stop the bickering and lets debate the most important topic of the day:

Throddy's secret racism ;)

Edit: bainteor - you reported a post? Gaybo - suck it up, it's only words :p

Nothing wrong with a bit of closet racism.

My ex's grandparents (in their 70's) were closet racists. After a glass of wine they started going on about the 'slitty eyed bastards'. Hilarious.

Wow, just wow. I won't even get started or directly address bainteor because that a whole world or head shaking I just don't want to get into. Suffice to say that trying to point out how intelligent (
"I'd be happy to destroy some more people in even more humiliating ways with my arguments but I think I've posted enough for one day. Otherwise people will just report me to the moderators again for being too intelligent."
and mature you are then throwing arrogant childish insults (
"worthless posters"
,
"you vile person"
, yourself doesn't make people take you particularly seriously. Tone down the attitude and let's chat like adults?

So what have we learned in this thread?

We've learnt that Throd's a grumpy bugger who doesn't like being woken up before his alarm clock.

We've learnt that there's a few people on FH who like to pull the discrimination card at the drop of a hat.

We've also learnt that the journalists working at the Crawley Observer write poor pieces that lack detail. You'd be a little late to the party if you were counting on that article for the start of proceedings.

The argument seems to have stemmed from the fact Throd used the term "religious maniacs".

Let's look at the term objectively shall we? It wasn't religion specific for a start.
Secondly, if you're not a fan of religion then someone walking down the street shouting about how great their own personal sky-fairy is in the early hours of the morning could be perceived as a little crazy, no?

So from a rational point of view it's hardly the worst thing he could have said and not even an insult, just a overly colourful description.

Following this he was accused of being a bigot. I think there's an apology due. I'm not expecting one to be forthcoming but I'll just throw it out there.

So, what's Eid about?

No such parties going on in the Finnish scenery.

There is a whole thread about it somewhere here... or maybe not quite
;)

That is just comedy gold!

1) 7:30am is not "the early hours of the morning" unless you happen to be a student and thus beyond contempt and

2) "Personal sky-fairy"? Horrendous thing to say, any pretence of being fair minded and neutral just went up in flames.

Laz make some negative comments about Islam or foreigners in general, then you can have a load of teenagers screaming at you too :)

Then you can explain how you are fully qualified to make such a remark, they will ignore that and carry on slagging you off anyway.

This thread is the true embodyment of "arguing on the internet" :D

I've actually laughed a lot :)

The problem is that you're a major part of it and laugh at it in a mocking manner :p

I just nod politely - the food I get more than makes up for the down sides :D

You've ignored and even cut off the start of that quote which was putting the reader in the shoes of someone who doesn't have much regard for religion. I was not expressing a personal opinion, just echoing other people's terminology. So yeah, the point still stands.

Because all Muslims are 'foreigners'? You truly are the embodiment of the willfully ignorant 'little Englander'.

It's probably worth picking up on the debate about whether 7:30am is "too early" to be making a racket outside someone's home.

Let's ignore the fact that society is becoming a lot more 24 hour a day oriented and therefore people go to bed and wake up at all hours of the day and night.

Let's assume a bog standard 9 - 5 job. Most people would be within 30 minutes of their place of work. I can't imagine many people spend much longer than 30 mins getting ready, which would put most people's wake up time at 8am.

Of course there's exceptions to this but it's reasonable to assume that the above works as a general circumstance.

So if the above is reasonable, then making a noise before 8am when "most" people expect their alarms to go off can be reasonably considered anti-social.

"Muslims or foreigners in general", what other meaning are you meant to derive from that?
