And they wonder why eSports in Europe isn't as well received as Asia or the US...
With eloquent chaps like you they can't go wrong!
And no we aren't trying to shout you down. I took exception as you stated, explicitally, that anyone who disagreed with you was
You threw out the Carte blanche...not us. If you feel unable to back up your statements and/or stick by them, thats not our problem. But if you go attempting to tar the vast majority of players with a single brush do not be suprised when people start picking apart everything you say...and then at the end try (and fail) to take the moral high ground that people are "picking on you".
Really, if you are so easily brought low then i dont get how you can be anywhere in eSports. Every eSports pro i have met has a very thick skin and is generally fairly switched on to the fact that what they do does not appeal to everyone, they try and appeal to wider audiences by doing exposition matches to bring more people into the fold.
They don't stand there and yell at the top of their voice "This is right! Anyone who thinks otherwise is just a shit player", well some do, but they dont hang around very long![]()
If you want a mmo that does skill > numbers
Where one person whos exceedingly good can beat dozens....try mortal

Tis...but its very realistic! It's terrible though.![]()
DOAC had fantastic PvP. What sets it apart imo is the pace of the combat mechanics. Abilities were far more devastating but easily countered. Yes CC was powerful but it had immunity timers and was easily broken / removed. Casters could do massive damage but had to position themselves and kite better than in any other game.
This game does offer enough room to roam with groups, it does offer places to solo and it offers room to zerg.
The big difference with daoc is....
GuildWars 2 is not DAoC
rose tinted glasses ftw
Yeah it offers it, it doesn't happen / probably won't happen.
GW2 is basically at what DAoC is at now, zerging everywhere.
Ive run solo plenty of times, every time I get run over by at least 10x my number.
Perhaps true, but may I ask when you think the solo action started in DAoC? It sure as hell wasn't at the start where everybody just zerged.
I cannot speak of your personal experience in wvw simply because it is what and how you experienced it, I however experienced solo wvw different.
Nah, it started alot later on obviously.
It's the reason I said earlier on in the thread i'd probably come back at a much later point in the game, year or 2 in, when everyone has learnt to play their classes properly and stop being lemmings.

DAoC soloing started only in the first week of it going live.
Right about the time the first ppl went to camp DL or the crabs in middie land.
all i remember of early days rvr was piles of bodies, being chased by realm guards from portal keeps, milegate scraps and masses of sparkly blue hammers falling from the sky![]()

Still wildly missing the point though, I couldn't care less how other people play the game. The point Himse made that still holds true, and keeps being completely glossed over by these dribbling morons who believe anyone who doesn't run around in a 200 man zerg is an OMFG ELITIST WTF PIECE OF SHIT ASSHOLE

Earlier today, Guild Wars 2 players got their first real idea of what's awaiting them in the Lost Shores content update. They responded with an collective outcry against the introduction of Ascended items, which inhabit a new tier of item rarity. The roar of outrage was a little muddled, however, as there weren't a whole lot of details about what purpose Ascended items serve. A new blog post clarifies the whole issue. Get ready for some knowledge!
One of the primary design purposes for the Ascended item tier is to bridge the gap between Exotic gear (which fairly casual players can have a reasonable certainty of acquiring without too much angst) and Legendaries (which are for the hardest of hardcores). Specifically, Ascended items will be used specifically to combat new endgame mechanics. Foes within the new Fractals of the Mists dungeon will inflict Agony on players. Agony can only be mitigated by Infusions, which can be put only into Ascended armor. As players get to higher levels of difficulty within the dungeon, they will eventually find a point at which they have to counter Agony (by Infusions) before they can hope to proceed. Rather than being upgraded with normal components, Ascended gear has upgrades built-in, and upgrade slots have been repurposed into Infusion slots.
November's update will include only Ascended rings and back items. More Infusions and Ascended item types will be added with time. When Ascended items are added to the game, Legendary weapons will be updated so they are still the best available option (as opposed to being on-par with Exotic weapons, as they currently are).
