At the end of the day, I'll come back to the game when it's calmed down and developed a good 5v5 scene / fixed stuff. Not 100+ noobs zerging back and fourth between 2 keeps.

Sounds like sPvP is built for someone like you. Or do you just want to be able to faceroll zergs? I can't imagine them ever putting a 5 minute AoE mezz in the game.

SPvP is actually horrible. No kite space blah blah, too many things to talk about really.

It's not about facerolling zergs as such, it's the fact there's nothing competitive about GW2, it's just 100 people zerging over 20, or the other way round 5 minutes later.

Don't see what's so hard to understand, grouping with people is fun, facerolling everything in sight then getting facerolled by a bigger zerg sounds like fun

any game is a button mash fest its all input by buttons and Daoc was the worst of the lot it was mezz at max range mash assist train .. i dont see any different from any other mmo you mash the buttons in a certain order to max your damage output / survival is all .. i think you all just grown up and have a romantic idea of how leet you were in daoc tbh.

I may not be a pro FPSer anymore but i've done my share of pro ladder TF2, i also play LoL fairly well, I do draw the line at competitive SC2 however...prefer coop there, when I play RTS's at all.

I also dislike "fg pvp". Its exclusive, its full of people with over inflated egos who aren't actually any "good", they just know how to perform a set function repetitively.




Theres also a reason that "GW2 open PvP was built" like that. Its more popular.

DAoC with it's /stick, /face and /assist macros coupled with retarded CC demands more skill then a game that has none of that fucking shit how exactly?

And spamming a anytime style or single target DD in a assist train is not button mashing then? Oh i'm sorry, i forgot that all you had to do was tape down the number 1 key so it's always pressed and you can just sit there tabbing through targets! Yeah my bad, that clearly needs more skill then actively having to play the game.

All of you know DAoC was not a stick&assist game, if you do, you were obviously not playing properly.

I thought GW was designed to be a skill game? SPvP is just sit and capture the point thanks for ranks and WvW is run between 2 points and zerg back and fourth.

Also, my point is DAoC had something to counter the zerg other than a bigger zerg. But there was always stuff to counter CC, purge, CB, group purge yada yada.

Don't know why people cry about mezz so much in fairness, it was so easy to split on inc.

it was an RVR , zerg based, siege design.. if it worked or not is debatable, but going on about how X or Y random shit was good or more-hardcore etc is pretty irrelevant

Shh, hes obviously vastly superior to us in every way shape and form. Hes going to be President of the Universe don't you know! Nah i highly enjoyed DAoC when i played it. Set me on the MMO trail for...11 years? has it been so long, feels like only yesterday. Roaming through Hadrians to Beno to hold off yet.another.middy.attack. Oh tho good ol nights hanging around, drinking, making jokes, murdering, making more jokes...and of course the ever present "Do we have enough wood?"

Anyway, this has gone for beyond the original point which still remains the same. The two games are objectively incomparable in terms of the depth of combat, from the amount of classes/abilities, to the different types of abilities, the counters you need to be aware of, the time to kill and thereby importance of positioning, interrupts, I could go on and on. The fact that pointing out this fact descended into morons accusing me of simply trying to shout down other people and proclaim my so called 'superiority' (which I never did at any point), is absolutely fucking laughable. The biggest irony of all being that these mental midgets have the cheek to insinuate that I'm in some way childish for pointing out a fact that they're uncomfortable with. You're all so goddamn blind to the facts that the only defence you have is to deflect your sense of injustice into a tired old argument that anybody who disagrees with you is some 'elitist'. You threw out the Carte blanche...not us. If you feel unable to back up your statements and/or stick by them, thats not our problem. But if you go attempting to tar the vast majority of players with a single brush do not be suprised when people start picking apart everything you say...and then at the end try (and fail) to take the moral high ground that people are "picking on you".

Really, if you are so easily brought low then i dont get how you can be anywhere in eSports. Every eSports pro i have met has a very thick skin and is generally fairly switched on to the fact that what they do does not appeal to everyone, they try and appeal to wider audiences by doing exposition matches to bring more people into the fold.
They don't stand there and yell at the top of their voice "This is right! Anyone who thinks otherwise is just a shit player", well some do, but they dont hang around very long
