China will overtake America in a century or less. And if the Earl of Sandwich spent more time fighting America rather than inventing lunches we would have kicked your ass! Jerry jerry. etc.

Arguing this point is ludicrous this is all speculation and hypothesis on your part and not even worth talking about at all. Who says China is going to take over and I think Europe and America would come together and dispute that before it ever happened, I don't see that happening. Sure China is the worlds largest land lass as well as population but America still ranks in on the over all scale in both land mass and population as third. And end of the day, in this day in age we live in, population will have nothing to do with who is capable of winning or overtaking.

The Bush/Gore election was a fiasco. Gore won more votes.

I find it amusing how non Americans like to comment about something they really don't know about, or to make such an ordeal out of one little thing. First of .. Florida was the only state who had to re count and it was because their system was old and needed to be up graded and that was only fair. Bush won, and he won fair. I would have shot myself if Gore would have won. The man was a joke.. you guys know nothing about our way of life or our politicians other then what you hear by way of third party over seas and being that most hate the US and republicans anyway all that gossip and hearsay gets blown out of proportion. The polls STILL show that Bush is favored, the polls also show most feel like he should be re elected. end of story.

America is not hero to stay, sorry to break ur bubble. but itll be long gone on 100-200 years or so. In the history of man kind no empire has ever stood the test of time, the largest perhaps being the Roman empire that lasted for about 700 years as a actual empire then went into decline. The moves by the US are to try and preserve their dominant position on the world. but inevitably Americal will fall and a new power will be dominant, most likely china.

Are you serious? lol Do you know how moronic this statement is? "America is not here to stay" LOL sorry son, sorry to break YOUR bubble but the US has the largest and most technologically powerful economy in the world, with a per capita GDP of $37,600. US firms are at or near the forefront in technological advances especially in computers and in medical, aerospace, and military equipment.
In 200 years we have risen to one of, if not THE most powerful country in the world. Anyone who tried to stop that fell beneath our feet. We proved ourselves in 1776 as we were a brand new country and we still kicked Great Britons ass back home, we have been there proven ourselves and we are still here and will be here in the future.
Is it possible that like the once Great Britain, the dominant industrial and maritime power of the 19th century, we too could dwindle down to almost nothing? Sure. But every man woman in America will go down fighting to keep it. And until that happens... and until all your outrageous hypotheses happen, America still stands strong, undefended.

:ROFLMAO:

Yeah.. there we go again. Good old US mentality. We, the US, are the elite and you should all mind your own business, stfu and obey us. Maybe send some troops to support our wars, so we have something to sacrifice. Yellow ribbons aren´t exactly popular in the US anymore are they.
And everything the Bush administration says is - of course - the truth and nothing but the truth. Bush has won the election - says Bush. Tons of mass destruction weapons in Iraq (clear evidence: Powell waving with a bottle of anthrax... must be the truth), the war will be over in some weeks, Jessica Lynch being heroically rescued (omg! Hollywood has come true), war against terrorism (which - what a coincidence - had to happen in Iraq despite the fact that binLaden can´t stand Saddam ... minor details), lies lies lies.

funny that you say America is the most powerfull nation in the world, yet if Europe would put up a bunch of trade embargo's America's economy would not just crumble (like it does now) but shatter beyond reconision.
the only thing America truly has the most of is self confidence, but besides that they need their allies as much as we need them.

As usual i'm totally against the anti-america propaganda.... but just for a moment let me imagine this world that it appears some of you want...
<Goes into dreamy like trance and stuff>
The taliban still run Afghanistan, women cant show their face, girls cant go to school, anyone out of line with the regime is killed in mass quantities.
Saddam Hussein still runs Iraq. This morning he cut off his second cousins tongue for talking out of turn. Still the "normal" Anti-woman stuff here.
Terrorists go through both countries, if not directly helped, not exactly stopped. Creating a breeding ground for hate to be spread. Saddam decides to invade Kuwait again, but I guess its ok, we can go contain them. Sure some people in kuwait might die, but it prevents war. As far as people not having the right to speak or dress as they please or go to school. Well they are an independant sovereign nation right? Who are "we" to say what others can and cant do. (even though their dictators do) I mean so what if people want to have anthrax labs used to kill people in mass quantities.
Lets just say (all fictional) a new dictator takes over .... lets say... pakistan. I guess we will have to let that slide again, I mean they are a sovereign nation. I mean these "evil" dictators have rights don't they? (even if their people don't.)

Lets say - non-fictional - a dictator in North Korea is supressing his people, merrily building nuclear (=mass destruction) weapons and threatening the world with a war. And nobody in the entire US of A is giving a damn about the poor people that are starving there. Instead, USA is displaying endless patience, trying to solve this threat in a diplomatical way, leaving Kim in his position.
I mean these "evil" dictators have rights don't they? (even if their people don't.)

<Gets out my glasses> You said we shouldnt go to Iraq right, but north korea thats ok. I don't know about you but I havent been to the meetings for that, so not sure on what all has been covered. Who knows, maybe we are finally taking the worlds advice and letting dictators just pwn each other. Isn't that what everyone wants? No one to help.

you do realise that the same appllies to all the other empires and powerful nations that have been on this planet.

The mongols,The english and Roman were all larger than the American and Rome inparticular had a stronger hold on the known world. Yes americal may go down fighting (with nukes prolly) but it will fall. Not before long the whole of Europe will be united and then give some more years Eu will be strogner than USA.
then u got china and India
emerging nations with vast potential, sorry but US influence will start to decline and more and more people will get pissed off with em. Then itll crumble and ull jsut be another country.
look what happened to Greek and Roman and Mongol and English empires.what r they now, hardly influential countries anymore, same will happen to US.

Does it say anything about me winning the lottery? or no?

I should add, while history is worthy to take a look at no doubt. Times have changed, America isn't exactly mongolia. Besides before that happens the UK will become allies and go down with us. I saw it in your magical crystal ball, so you can't dispute it.

Pointing out the obvious wasn't a slap to anyone's face, its just a fact. As it stands I don't think most would argue that America is one of the most powerful countries in the world.
I disagree with your idea that our economy is crumbling, the economy is marked by steady growth, low unemployment and inflation, and rapid advances in technology.
The response to the terrorist attacks of September 2001 showed the remarkable resilience of the economy. Recovery took place in 2002, with the GDP (gross domestic product ) growth rate rising to 2.45%.

I never said America didn't need allies, we are supposed to lean on each other but instead all I ever see is anti America bashing going on. I don't think you would want to do without America either.. you bash America now but come a war and you will call for us.

As far as mr fortune telling man here (samildanachh) I don't have much to say lol Its just a laughter factor with his "future knowledge"

You want.... America... to do something?

No, hell, I don´t want America to do something. I´m just pointing out, that apparently - in the eyes of "Mr. President" - "suffering people" and "suffering people" are different things, depending on whether they´re suffering a couple kilometers above an oil field or not. I just want to point out the hipocracy of praising the US for releasing the poor people in Iraq and Afghanistan. The United States don´t give a flying f*ck about suffering people and they don´t care if women have to wear Burkas or not. It just came in handy that the political and economical target middle east is also a region with quite many dictators, so they can hide behind their pseudo-humanistic freedom for everybody philosophy.

Oh.. and just to make one thing ABSOLUTELY clear: I am NOT against USA. I´ve got friends there and I like the country a lot. I`m just criticizing this administration and the way how they´re lying right into the worlds face without giving a damn.

Is that sortta like the KKK people who say what the believe and what they practice is ok, cause after all they have some black friends.

Having a friend, going to the USA.. doesnt mean you begin to understand from the eye of an american. Same as for the fact I dont understand from your point of view.. THUS the reason there will never be world peace.

Funny, what I see is a country that thinks everything should go their way, and if it doesn't they're throw a tantrum.
the US doesn't want allies, it wants loyal slaves, and treats it's allies like exactly that.

the US and the UN are suppost to be allied, but when the UN disagreed with the actions of the US (Iraq) they threw a tantrum and went there anyway.
there's a threaty to deliver war criminals to the peace courd in De Hague for trial. The US respects this unless the war criminal is an american, then they have the right to invade the netherlands, if he's imprisoned here. the list goes on and on...

I'm not saying the US is the source of all evil, don't get me wrong, but they sure as hell would do good to get their head at least a little out of their arse...

Is the UN the God of the earth? Are they the all knowing power? How dare world leaders get together and decide to go against the UN. Wasn't it like 16 countries who backed the US?
So when you say they get there way, don't you mean countries pulling together get there way?

And if I was to sit here and list off the things I disagree with in other countries such as the one you live in, I could go on and on myself. There is always something that someone will find offensive and worth a debate. I just wish putting America in the spot light as the ones to throw a tantrum would stop. But then again.. if what you say is correct and it was just America, and we were so powerful to go against the UN... AND we got backing. All I can say is WOW.. its good to live in America.

actually most people in this thread agrees that taking out the Taliban/Saddam was good just not in the way you did it. I dont know much about the Taliban and about the current goverment, but atm most people in Afghanistan had it better before 2001 actually. Off course in 10 years they will most likely have it better than they had during the Taliban, but with some waiting and more effort the period where there is an unrest could have been smaller.

About Iraq, now people there hardly like the US. So its still a breeding ground for terrorists and people have it worse than they did during Saddam. Also it isnt even sure, if there will be a democratic goverment or that we will have to pull back out of Irak, because the personal losses are to great.

Ow and about dictators, USA are supporting Isreal arent they?

Iraq could have been done in a better way and the reason why we should do it could have been brought better. The world was against going there just for WMD's as that was the reason why bush wanted to go there (Atleast in the beginning). Now if Bush had said that we should liberate the Iraqi's than most of the wolrd would have probably agreed. However rebuilding a country and for first time setting up a democracy isnt easy and thats another point why some people were hesistant and are now proven right as it isnt going at all how Bush atleast gave us the impression how it would go.

And Seeaira, usa had to climb up from being a poor country with only potential, so why cant China do that? They probably have the largest grow market and have the biggest population. It might not happen, but its reasonable safe to say that USA will loose its power sooner or later as that has always happened and isnt something you can stop. But that doesnt really matter as it will probably happen when we are long dead anyway.
Ow and USA had enough military might to defeat Iraq, most people knew that. So the countries who went along did it, because so they could have some control over what would happen there. Usa would do it with or without the UN, so better to go along and make sure it goes slightly better than just sit on the bench and see where you could have helped the Iraqi's.
And spain hardly wanted to help USA, the goverment did and still most people in Spain think its wrong. And countries supporting you now are there for the Iraqi's hardly, because they thought it was a good thing. But because it did happen and helping out now is better than just doing nothing.

USA gets put int he spotlight all the time, because you keep on saying you are the most powerful country and off not going along with agreements that most countries did sign(kyoto, international court in de Hague..).
