Yeah speculation is just as bad as a spoiler. If someone had said to me "I think Verbal is Soze" halfway through that film it was not a spoiler as it was a guess but it still detracts from the final scene. Speculations in Spoiler tags is only polite and you only need to click one button to see it. If they are labelled as Spoilers / Speculations it is easy.

I'd be happy if people prefer that compromise - but we'd all have to do it - otherwise it'd be pointless and self-defeating.

Speculation isn't the same as spoilers though. If someone guesses correctly then well done to them. I actually thought Verbal was Soze halfway through the film, but since I was working in the real world rather than on a discussion forum, where the mechanics of communication are significantly different, I held back for 45 minutes. On the forum I wouldn't hold back -but I'd put it in a spoiler tag so people who haven't seen the film don't have it spoiled.

@Lethul & @Raven - yes, I get it, you both don't like these discussions continually popping up - neither do I. I really, honestly, don't. But it's impossible for me to enjoy the thread and partake as I should because I can't even read the speculation in case it's actually a spoiler. And it's a very simple thing.

Unless @Deebs can implement big pink "Speculation" tags for people so weird they don't actually want to read what other people think might happen on a discussion forum?

My theory is that Bran is the 3 eyed Raven. Bran says something to the Raven when he first gets touched by the Knight King. He says something like "am I ready?" and the 3 eyed Raven says "You're not ready to be me yet".

Also if the Raven is future Bran, he could affect Hodor's brain knowning future Bran will need him.

If the 3 eyed Raven is not Bran, nor affected Hodor all those years ago, how could Hodor of been the way he is? We watched Bran's character develop and start to learn his power. Hodor was the same all the way through.

He is the 3 eyed raven now. I do not think it is a passed and present thing where they were both Bran. I think Bran broke Hodor by controlling him while in the vision. So while he was in the vision he controlled Hodor in the real world breaking Hodo in the past.

The interesting thing will be if he can do it to people who are in the past in any vision or if he can only to it to people who are still alive or he can do it to anybody. If he can go back to any point then the possibilities are massive. If he can only control someone in the present by wraging them in the vision then it is a bit more limited.

It's been established that people in the "past" can hear him when he speaks to them whilst visiting different times.

I definitely think he is the one speaking to the red priestesses. To ensure they manipulate the right people.

We also got a glimpse of the mad King shouting "burn them all". I bet it's bran that whispers to him to make him mad. So that Danny can eventually be in a position to bring dragons to the table.

Basically, he is the architect of the current setting. And one of the most important characters in the show. / books.

You can still spoil the books easily. I know people that say they are reading the books after the show finishes.

I personally avoid this thread until I have watched the show. Talking about the show is fine. Spoiler anything you mention from the book. I am OK with speculation but I do worry that some of my justifications come from the books. It would have been easy to speculate John Snow coming back based on the books for example.

This should never happen. If you read the thread before being up to date you're a moron who deserves what you get. Spoilers should never be used to discuss stuff that's been broadcast - because if it's been on the telly it's not a spoiler.

I am wondering if Arya was always meant to refuse that kill now. The Actress is a good woman if she killed her she is no better than a sell sword. With the way the blond girl grinned I wonder now if this was the final test. Only Arya or the blond girl can survive and become a faceless man. Just thinking back he has never seemed like the type that would just kill for money, in my head it seems like there needs to be more to it. I am hoping it is one last test so this story line does not feel pointless.

I was thinking similar things too. The "do not make her suffer" line did it for me. The blondie will make her suffer, Arya will somehow survive and be admitted based on passing the last test.

What do people think of the upcoming trial by combat? Will there be an epic fight or will HS somehow sidestep it? Is trial by combat allowed in a faith trial?

Even when he was killing people to pay her back he warned how important a life was back in season 2. It is why killing for money does not sit right with me. I think they kill people that deserve it. I might have got that very wrong though.

I think the HS will say there is no trial by combat and Joffrey will agree. Or Margery was only playing along at being subservient and the HS and the faith militant will get all kinds of dead. I am bored of that story tbh so it can't come soon enough.
