He is the 3 eyed raven now. I do not think it is a passed and present thing where they were both Bran. I think Bran broke Hodor by controlling him while in the vision. So while he was in the vision he controlled Hodor in the real world breaking Hodo in the past.

In most time travel films they do the following.
*you see the event*
*time traveller adjusts things*
*you see the past/present change*

What I'm struggling with is how Hodor was broken before Bran was born/still a child. If Bran is responsible, how comes we never saw the before? If Bran was responsible, Hodor would have lived a normal life. When Bran breaks him, you would have to see some stupid flashback of Hodors past changing?

Yeah like someone else said. Time travel in this universe looks preordained so there is no free will. The only way Hodor was always broken was because Bran was always going to be in that vision at that time to break him. So nothing Bran could or would have done can ever change that.

I have to admit I did roll my eyes a bit at the Hold the Door part. To me it did not really add anything it just served as a "Look how smart I am" moment, because he had planned it all along.

That being said I do like it when a show is built with multiple layers and when a big puzzle does come together. But with this show there is the feeling that you can't trust that any parts of the wider story will be respected because the fucker kills everyone eventually.

And also if Bran has this ability why not use to to save his Dad stop his brother being murdered or generally stop all the shit that has gone down. Mentally disabling a giant does not lead me to think he has a massive impact on the wider world, not without just ignoring all the shit he has let happen.
For me, that's because I think that is where it might lead. Bran using his new found abilities with his knowledge of things that have happened in his lifetime to alter the past and put Ned on the Iron Throne.

Jeesus people - STOP USING SPOILERS FOR FUCKING SPECULATIONS!

Spoilers are for spoilers. Geddit? People shouldn't have to click on spoilers just to participate in a thread. It totally defeats their purpose - which is to protect you from actual spoilers.

How hard is the concept to grasp??!!!
Stop telling people how to post. Live with it. If you want to discuss then discuss, you don't get to dictate to others in what terms they must discuss.

But Ned would have to be alive. As someone else pointed out Hodor was always Hodor. So whatever happened Bran would always go back and break him. The way it should have been is Hodor was a normal guy then Bran goes back and breaks him and we see a flash back of his life changing and him becoming Hodor. But as he was always broken then Bran does not change time beyond how he already changed it? So Ned would need to still be alive for him to end up on the Throne?

It is more likely Bran controlled someone and had Bran the Builder leave half a ton of Dragon Glass weapons hidden in Winterfell or something like that to help kill the walkers.

Except you're forgetting that we just recently saw Rob brought back from the dead, so that's not off the table imho. That leaves Bran to shape things in the past that come to be in the not yet revealed present. Make sense?

Yeah I am with you. He makes sure a Red Priest was in Kings Landing when Ned was killed or something. Very nice I like that.

Good theories. I think the concept of a) time-travel and b) resurrection will be useful plot devices - anything can happen.

Maybe Joffrey will return once Cersi hears about it.

Bran is such a twat he would probably resurrect Joffrey just to fuck with everybody.

It could turn out that he's the one that has him killed as revenge for him being thrown from the tower.

I've not read the books. I know the hound could come back. What's the issue?

She clearly did all that on purpose. The way she acted before that happened was completely out of character. I bet she has a bag of pig's blood hidden in her clothes. And now she's left a trail of blood all the way to her dark little room...

Since Thoros of Myr is definitely in this season, I'd say...yup

Random YouTube comment:

I am Daenerys Targaryen, The First of her name, Queen of the An--- Lyanna Mormont: "I've heard all your names, what do you want?!"

Laughed my arse off.

Good episode. I thought Lovejoy would be in it longer though...so far, a decent season. I guess they're saving the Ramsay v Snow epic Winterfell slaughter for episode 9, then leave some dramatic cliff haangers for us until season 7. The seasons just fly by so quickly.
