So Wex are now refusing to send me something because they have had problems with the item (a studio lighting kit) getting damaged in transit in the past and just plain do not ship it internationally any more. This coming the day after I spoke to the guy on the phone, explained what I wanted to add to the order (a studio lighting kit) with him knowing full well that I was "international" before he said I would have to place another order. Joined-up thinking GO.

For the record, they *still* haven't replied to my original support ticket thing, and they dispatched the order yesterday without sending me an "we've dispatched your order" email. I would've defended them to the bitter end up until about 36 hours ago but this has really fucked me off.

I rang Calumet this morning and asked them about the lighting kit and they said "sure no problem we'll ship it for you". I think I'm going to be a Calumet customer now, assuming their prices are equal or close to those of Wex.

Cal, walk away from Wex - seriously.

They still have my O2 email account on record even though I've told them every single fucking time I've phoned them my new email address, they still email me on the old one. I'd also write a letter of complaint, they used to be good but they're clearly slipping.

Nah, buying a walkman as a camera would be trolling ;)

DON'T MAKE ME DIG OUT COMPARISON IMAGES.

Wazz, you gay, where are the pics?!

And I will, G. When I spoke to the guy on the phone it was like, collectively, they couldn't give a fuck about me. If i can see my order history on their site then they can. We have all spent a not inconsiderable amount of money on stuff from them, and they clearly don't care about that little fact. Fuck them tbh.

Unfortunately I am a Londoner and we have little time unlike you slack French horse muderers.

We all have something that sticks. With me it's laundry, with you it's horsicide.

milou - so lots of new tech, lots of new bodies and lots of lenses. Are you going to splurge some dough?
Tempted by either the Zeiss 35mm f/2 or to a lesser extent a 45mm TS. The former is about £90 more at Robert White compared to DigitalRev.

Awesome, will be too rich for my blood. If it's priced anything like the 5D Mk3 at launch, it'll easily be somewhere between £3000 to £4000.

Oh aye, and aside from that, 46MP would bring its own problems in terms of processing.

I’m told that the coming big megapixel camera is a very new sensor design/overhaul. The emphasis is in the dynamic range of the sensor. Performance is said to be on the level of medium format, even better than the impressive D800.

FINALLY? This is very interesting, particularly if this new improved "better than D800 DR" tech trickles down into the lower bodies. I still see my future upgrade in the mirrorless market (perhaps full-frame eventually, not too bothered), I am loving mirrorless so far.

Been farting about with the camera on the iPhone 5; took this outside a supermarket, tiny push of saturation on Adobe Photoshop Express on the iPhone itself (resized to 1200 pixels wide).

The RX1 is very much like when you see a gorgeous woman from behind; you see her long hair, her great ass and amazing legs, then she turns around and has a face like Carlos Tevez.

The RX1 is brilliant in every way, then they STICK A FIXED LENS ON IT.

A full-frame NEX will be here some time next year, but in the mean time, it's on the whole a bit of a fail for most photographers. On the flip side, my colleague at work who is a wedding photographer on the weekend has added the fixed lens Fuji mirrorless camera - he says it works great for candid shots at photos because guests are less intimidated by a wee pocket camera compared to a big DSLR. Maybe those sorts of people will buy an RX1.

A couple more images out the iPhone 5, not bad at all for a teeny sensor with a teeny lens.

Original, straight out of the camera:

Tweaked in photoshop - selective curve adjustments, vibrance boost and overall image contrast to give a little more punch:

LEE FILTERS - On the Lee filters stand, they were proud to announce that the waiting times for their high demand products is now over. They are in a far stronger position to turn out higher volumes of their filter kits and big stoppers.
About time.
