My one reluctance is that my tripod is often close to or in the water which is ok with a remote but not so sure whilst using a phone.Has anyone used this?

What exactly do you need Tom? Simple cable release? Remote IR? Timelapse?
I had one for three years until some twat (i.e. me) stood on it and pulled the cable out.
