Fuck it, at that price and claims of stock I'm ordering. I'll sort memory cards and other stuff once it arrives.

How do you know they are using the fixed batch? I told you to buy from them and you wanted to wait for the new batch.

You can open it up to see when it arrives. They'll be fine with that. Warranty schmarranty.

Yes but well known.

I've had a very bad time with another that came recommended, personally I wouldn't do it again. Fool me once and all that. ;)

Digital Rev were great for me. The packaging could've been better (about £3k of stuff just crammed into a DHL bag with no bubble wrap or anything) but luckily Canon's own internal packaging was fine.

Everyone has different experiences with every company ever. I wouldn't hesitate to use Digital Rev again.

Well, we'll soon see

Need to consider me a shopping list.

Lens - Tamron or L 2.8 24-70?
Filters - suggestions welcome.
Memory cards - suggestions welcome.
Spare battery maybe?
Home contents insurance that covers me out and about with camera.
Anything else?

Wow that's a good price, tempting at less than the D800.

Yep, hence why I was persuaded to buy it at silly o'clock on a Sunday night. ;)

Re shopping list, carbon fibre tripod.

I did a good four hour hillwalk at the weekend and it paid dividends when lugging my kit up 1600 feet. Wouldn't fancy it with the heavy alu tripod.

No, I'm just a man that doesn't flinch at carrying a few kilos around for the day.

I thought it was us Southerners that were supposed to be soft? Clearly you're just a MASSIVE FANNY. It only weighs 700-800g more than the CF equivalent ffs :D

Re the lens choice, you cannot go wrong with the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 (the MK1), but I'd equally be tempted to wait for the reviews of the Tamron.

Canon's 24-70mm MK2 is just so fecking expensive for something that'll have no perceivable difference over the MK1 even in a large print.

Yeah think it's just a case of wait and see how much better the mk2 is, if at all.

Can't be far around the corner now, can it?

Fuck waiting, get the MK1.

Sell it later if you want.
