Deffo want super lens for Underground project. Although I might have to go and take a couple of shots at Bank station without it as they have a couple of panels off in a tunnel and the underneath is really interesting and would almost certainly make a decent shot. Just hope they haven't covered them back up by Monday... not going to work tomorrow.

Oh yeah, more info for you:

I've had to pay nothing extra to receive this, no VAT or import tax.

Probably because on the Commercial Invoice they listed the value at £75.00.

I didn't either, I was sort-of half expecting to all the while it was winging it's way towards me. Out of interest, how was the packaging? I expect they put a bit more effort into it when it's a body. Mine was just Canon boxes shoved straight into the DHL bag... some of the corners of the boxers were crumpled a bit but otherwise it all survived flying half way round the world.

There was about 6 metres of bubblewrap around the whole box, tightly wrapped in DHL bag. Would have been better to have been boxed around the wrap but it was really tightly fitted and the box looked fine.

Excellent. Catch a 50mm f/1.4 for low light goodness.

It's such a joy to be using a 50mm lens when you SHOULD be using a 50mm lens and not sticking a 28mm to fit it all in.

Fuck crop bodies.

I'm torn between a new pair of speakers, or a D800. I can't decide.

Did a very crude test of holding the LCD up to the light and covering it and uncovering it, not noticed any dropoff so maybe no light leak.

DR provided a free 3 inch LCD protector for the view LCD... which is 3.2in. :(

And now it won't stay on properly. The camera that is. Keeps cutting out in a second after turning on. If I fiddle with stuff quickly I can keep it alive but it fades in and out and then dies again.

Please no :(

Back alive again, weird. Seems ok now. Probably didn't like the battery position or something stupid like putting in the CF card before the batt.

I walk past those bits in Bank every day. Still uncovered, they have the words "Light" in red colours on the concrete. (I assume this is the area you are on about??)

Here, still. Just not really feeling photography atm. Lacking inspiration etc. I live a stone's throw from a beautiful mountain range and I haven't been arsed to go up there all through winter or spring. But hey-ho, the passion will come back, it usually does.

The sort of stuff I'm doing right now isn't exactly fine art. I seem to have been talked into doing over 1000 individual portraits after the summer for the local school. The horror. :(

Anyway, Taking Apart the Fuji X100

Good to hear mate.

PICS?

Didn't get a huge amount of time last night so attaching this. If you're interested I have taken the same shot accross all non-expanded ISOs which I could upload. ISO 100 f/1.8 1/4 Tungsten WB. Unedited. Nothing interesting, just fiddling. Have had to jpeg it though as uploading CR2/zip fails. :(

Not quite sure - I'm talking about the tunnel between Waterloo & City line + Northern line... not seen any words but plenty of numbered stenciling and some interesting contrasts of texture.

I go from Waterloo & City line (that tunnel has bits missing along with all the Citi bank adverts) and then do a left at the end to go to Central Line.

They both just failed with no error part way through the upload, formats are supported and the files are around 20-22mb.
