I've been on the early access thing for about a week, think eks has as well. I've already got a few teams built up and a load of players and stuff ready to trade.

Yeah exactly. I'm able to use the web app at work so I spend a lot of time just picking up tonnes of small gains - buy a DeRossi for 12k, sell for 15k etc etc. Fill your trade pile with 1-5k profits and you soon roll in the cash. The thing I learnt from FUT last year is that the market post-December is an absolute joke, so if you want to get rich you have to do it early. I also go to the 59th minute every night for an hour or so quite late on and the deals you pick up there are ridiculous. Bought the Ozil in my team for around 20k, he's worth 40k+ easily.

Tbh the advantage isn't that ridiculous, I beat people with incredible teams with low rated fun teams all the time last year. Moreover, I caught up to those people with big coin totals very quickly also. It's off-putting in some ways for sure, but it's never an insurmountable gap imo and frankly the richest people make up a very, very small portion of the amount of people playing.

Reminds of that fucking template-ing and TOA'ing bullshit from DAOC all over again. Who the fuck has that much time to sink into it? And fuck any game where I have to do it too just for people to want to play with me.

Ok Fifa obviously isn't the same. But it did used to piss me off that I found it so hard to group with my Light Eld becuase I didn't have the time (I played DAOC in a lan cafe) to get some awesome template.

Try switching with the right thumbstick - I found my control of players defensively improved dramatically when I did that. You're able to switch more accurately also as you flick the stick in the direction of the player you want to control rather than hoping LB picks the right player for you.

On the controls, I agree for sure. I played a LOT of FIFA12 (2000+ games online) and there were a few things I didn't pick up for months which improved my game dramatically. On some levels, I really like that it's complex but especially with things like the first touch controls it feels like they didn't take into account the previous controls enough when implementing them to ensure the game remained as intuitive as possible for the players.

right thumbstick is a lot better is it? Must admit I still use LB, never thought about changing it. Might have to give that a try.

I've also just realised that i'm a hoarder, got a TOTW Dzagoev yesterday and had to force myself to stick him up for sale rather than keep him "just in case" and i've got players like Pirlo and Walcott who have been sat in my club pile for the same reason (dont fit into the 2 formations ive decided im using), so they've gone on the Auction List now as well...

Why have they upped the game speed on this to light speed?

Fifa 12 was perfect for the speed of the game now everything is going around as though it's on fast forward.

Yeah it is pretty rapid this year, a bit too fast on Ultimate Team but perfect on Head2Head imo - last year was really sluggish outside of UT. No idea why they insist on the two game modes being different speeds though, the difference isn't as big this year thankfully but last year it was night and day.

Shagrat: you're definitely right about being a hoarder - 17 mil club value?! I only have 9 mil and I have two 85 rated squads!
