What Gumbo said! Pull up bar, weights and a mat are what you need.

Just back from the gym; bumped the cardio up by another 5 mins. Weights remain the same. Also had a bit more biking than usual today outside the gym as I rode in to school and back . 20 mins each way and quite quickly so I had a high heart rate. Was glad of the extra work because I'm a bit bummed out I've not yet broken 90kg like I hoped I would. Seems like I'm bouncing off the 90~91~90~91 for the past two weeks :-/

yeah I know, but I'm impatient. I was hoping to break into the 80's before I went on holiday :-(

It's funny how the weight loss isn't constant but more of a downwards canted sawtooth.

Nice, I'm sure I could do a 5k/10k, but eh I'm not really a runner.

I dodged going out to a family thing at the indian tonight because having chicken tikka for starter+main while watching people drink beer/eat garlic naans would have been really annoying, especially when I'm getting so close to goal weight #1.

That's why the fast day thang is working for us. We're not having to skip anything tbfh.

Weight loss is slow and steady. No beefcake shakes, no mad exercise regimes.

Depends what your goal is, if your goal is to be at a normal bmi, and not be a fatty bum bum then so be it, if you want to look better than overall fitness helps a lot with that as well.

Sorry long post...

I said that a while ago in this thread. We almost need 2 separate threads, but that never really works. There's people doing weight loss in here, and people doing fitness. They're not mutually exclusive, of course, but they can have separate ends.

I'm impressed with the weight loss people are posting on here. It's great, posting on a thread like this gives you great accountability too, really keeps you going.

I could have stood to lose perhaps 5kg from my starting point. If I simply wanted to lose mass. Most of it would have been fat, I'd have lost some muscle too because that's the nature of restricted calorie weight loss. I have to do some physical things, so I don't, and didn't want to do that. Basically I'd have got skinny with a 5kg drop which I didn't want.

So I'm doing a mad exercise regime!

I weigh the same as I did, but if I went shopping for a pair of jeans now, it would be a 32" waist which I haven't worn since my teens (37 now). More than that though, I'm getting loads stronger which means less chance of hurting myself when I have to do physical things. Also I can lark around with my daughter more, I have more energy and don't feel like a sleep when I get in from work.

Biggest difference though, and this I put down to the 90 minutes of yoga a week. I have, no, wait, I had really bad neck and shoulder mobility. If I tried to raise my arm straight out from my side, I couldn't get it above my shoulder. Now my arms can touch my ears, reaching straight up, it's awesome. Also, I couldn't turn my head to look behind and reverse a car. Now I'm like the girl from the exorcist!!

Anyway, Like I said, there's room in this thread for weight loss and fitness posts, especially as we're all taking up so much less space now.

I'd *almost* be tempted by strengthening/muscle building but the effort required to keep it on is just a pain in the ass for me. If I could do a ten minute thing every morning that didn't mean I had to do different reps of different stuff and concentrate on different parts of my body I'd do it.

As it is, I'm considering getting back into kayaking. Cycling for my legs, canoeing for my mid-upper body. Job done :)

You can, just do 10-15 mins of bodyweight exercises. Something like this:

( if they are too easy increase the step number and check again ), will give you awesome lean muscle.

this morning I was the closest I can be to 90kg and not be 89.9999999 whatsits. Going on holiday tomorrow: 8 days of no keto and hopefully drinking copious amounts of beer at Iceland Airwaves. Will let you know what this will have done to me when I get back hehe ;)

If you were doing Keto, and had plateaued, then the very best thing you can do is get off it for a bit, then go back to it. Bet you zoom past your plateau as soon as you get going again.

heh I hope so. Had another 10kg or so planned to drop. Keto's almost perfect for wintertime too, so I'm happy.

That vid above, btw, I do a subset of the prisoner's workout at home as well as hitting up the gym. It fits in perfectly at the start/end of the day imo.

Once everyone hits their goals, there might be enough space for deebs schnozel.

So... Not having gone to a proper gym in a month I stole my current housemate's Pure Gym membership and went. I have learnt several things:

1) I've got fat. A month of no gym (and smoking, over eating, under eating and no exercise)
2) TRX is FUCKING EVIL. Managed to get my feet into holders and did the press up and crunch combination. After about 5 minutes I was on the floor drenched.
3) Pure Gym can't tell the difference between KG and pounds. Unless I can miraculously pull up 120kg with 1 hand.
4) When I'm back in my own place (1 week!) I'm going to stop smoking again, get my deficit back on and start cardioing again, it's going to kill me.
5) Craze at 9pm is a bad idea.

Anyone here take ZMA or HMB supplements? If so, do you have a link to the ones you take?

Another new pb today 2.94mi in 25mins. Will get the 3 eventually! I've started listening to music as I run again and it seems to get me running faster.

Listening to something takes swathes of time off my bike rides. It's because lack of performance is brought on by your mind - so distracting it with something interesting enables you to go further/faster/harder.

Audiobooks for me. I've been through about twenty so far. My next is this - which is a departure from my usual Sci-Fi staple :)

Been stuck at 92.5 in benchpress for 4-5 weeks now. Today is a new attempt at 95kg. Any last minute tips? :)

I'm a beginner, but if you're not increasing weights or reps over time something is wrong.

Maybe try your current max weight but do more reps? If you can do 2-3 more then maybe trying a heavier weight will be easier?

Or is your diet the cause? My friend is a personal trainer and I will probably misquote him, but I'm sure he said when he asks people "when's the last time your weight increased?" They don't remember. There must be something you can do bar supplements to help?

Well I have increased :)
I've gone from 70~ to 92.5~ last few months. Just seem to have plateued at 92.5. I do quite a lot of mixed sets/weights.
The thing is I have never stalled this long time on a weight before. Maybe its just natural that the time it takes to increase increases when the weight goes up.

But I want it to be easier :(
