No rash..... And was only 100 quid at gatwick airport. There was an older version that caused rashes I believe but I've been wearing this one since Thursday non stop with no issues... Even after getting sweaty ;)

Wait till you start Beta. Then do Insanity :)
Going to do beta and then gamma, then probably go back into weights with a five by five regime. Been really unfit the last year.

I do like it, easy to motivate yourself because it's such a short workout.

@Scouse Google it :)

I tried tonight to do a half marathon. Managed 11.6 miles before my left hip said "STOP". Mind you, I've just done two full days carrying heavy boxes around, and a 4 mile run on each of the previous two nights.

Two months to go to get another 15 miles onto my range.

I considered it - but £120 seems very steep tbh.

Let me know how you get on tho. Especially with the whole fitbit causing skin rash thang :)
The Surge was apparently causing rashes but I suspect it was poor hygiene more than anything.

Two things about the charge hr. It's not waterproof. Wtf? And Some users have reported accuracy issues at high heart rates.

Saying that, it's the first wearable to interest me slightly. @Yoni - let me know if yours works fine at 170/180 bpm. I seen to have a naturally high rate during exercise even when fit. My resting hr and recovery are fine though.

Not done any exercise for a week now. Feeling a bit bad. Got a stag do this weekend - but the weekend after I'm going to spend a couple of long days in wales - Penmachno is something I've never done for some weird reason (heard great things about it) and I'm sure I can fit in the Marin trail and Coed Llandegla on the Sunday - so I'm sure that'll sort me out ;)

Managed a half marathon today. I was fine until about mile 11, when the arch under my left foot began to ache, and my hips became a bit sore. By 13 miles I was in a bit of pain.

To keep on schedule, next weekend I have to add another mile on :)

Oddly, even though I've eaten tonnes, I feel a bit light-headed. Maybe I've had too much sugary food.

Mumble. Can't do power cleans or front squats due to shit wrist flexibility. Looks like I've got stretching to do.

Push Press is fun though.

@leggy it seems that way but i dont go above 150
Do you reckon that's because you don't excercise in a way that pushes you past that or because it's not accurate above that?

I've been looking at reviews of it. Got the Aria scales and a fitbit tracking band would compliment it nicely as I'd have weight and a better calorie/sleep and exercise log (endomondo plugs into their website). However, the reviews are middling - some voice concerns over hr accuracy and some express disappointment over their analysis of your heart rates.

Maybe an update on the software side would convince me...

lol. A client has asked me if I'd do a job on the southwest coast, over a couple of days. The first thing I did? Check Google Maps to see where I might go running at night.

meh, I've given in to the temptation of le carbs, and lots of comfort food in the past two weeks, as well as spending one week in bed / at home with a cold has caused me to bloat up. implementing compensation measures starting tomorrow.

I don't go above 150. It is perfect for my purpose... I recommend you borrow one from a friend for a few days as no review will accurately answer your questions

Fuck sake, 4 weeks to go until this Marathon and I have shin splints, for which the recommended cure is to refrain from running for a couple of weeks.

So I've bought some compression socks and some big bastard insoles to see if that helps. I think I've been overdoing it a little, plus the bloke in Decathlon tonight made a good point, that the shoes I bought for running are for about 20 miles a week - I've been doing more than that.

Yeah, mate of mine's doing a marathon and he's bought a pair of £120 trainers that he had fitted at a specialist shop. He says they're amazing, and after overcoming the "you get what you pay for" thang in bikes I can believe him.

Give your legs a rest from running for a couple of weeks - and hit your bike cardio hard instead?

I am having a week off from running and I'll start off next week with a 16 mile run. As long as I can do a 20 mile run a couple of weeks before the big day then I'll be happy I can complete the full 26.

Not one for doing things by half, it's my intention to stick to a good 30 miles a week with the occasional marathon, for the foreseeable future. Once I've "mastered" that, I can start with the swimming. Then, next year perhaps....triathlon.

You'll have to change your name to GingerBuffBoy ;)

Bloke at work does that sort of stuff. I can't do the swimming in the pool - I find it desparately boring. I think I could cope with a bit of what they now call "wild swimming" - what we used to call swimming in a lake. However, nothing close by to me :(

108 miles, about 4,000 calories burned, but all I really wanted to do was this bit:

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4OtUsqilps

And I made it up, overtaking pretty much everyone along the way :) Only four people overtook me, all at the very bottom. Didn't take long for me to reel them in and consign them to history :) I'm pretty damn chuffed with what I did - top 13% on Strava (out of about 3,200 riders) up the entire 1.1 mile climb, but more importantly, after all that climbing I am in the top 5% up the bit you see in the video - which is where many people give up.

I'm completely bolloxed now.

Did what could be seen as a trivial 18 miles around Penmachno this weekend (but they're not trivial miles) with a couple of mates and the other half. It was shitting it down and I was stopping a lot to make sure whoever was last had company between sections but I nailed all of the sectioned. Took 4 hours.

My shorts chafed my penis so much that I've taken a layer of skin off and it's weeping slightly.

That hurts :(

I may have to start wearing underwear.

I hate underwear of all varieties. Far too hot. Even in winter :(

get a gooooood pair of cycling undershorts or bib shorts and wear them under your mtb togs. I do and everything stays in place. get some chamois cream for long sessions. anything over an hour and I'm creaming up around them teedlejewels and stuff. keeps things chafe-free and slinky.

mmmm loving it aren't you @leggy :D

I've got a pair, hate 'em. Don't like how they feel at all.

I'm doing this next weekend, however, so I may give 'em another whirl.

I'm normally fine - I did a 65 miler the other weekend and though I was a little tender I wasn't sore at all. Done 3 day 60+ers and been fine. I think it's because I was so very very wet (it was like riding in a shallow rocky river for 50% of the ride).

Still. Had a scream :)
