I went for my first run yesterday cause I was jealous of everyone doing the GNR, nice light two miles. Knee held up well which I was pleased about.

Went to the gym straight from work today for chest/calves, what a waste of fucking time. I was absolutely drained, Monday's are a killer at work.

After 9 months of being lazy, being back at (.. Not leaving. Ever.) 83kg - I'm back at the gym tomorrow morning.

Lets see how this goes.. Going to have to rebuild my tracker now.

I was doing really well going to the gym and putting on plenty of weight (muscle) but feeling better. Then on some hill climbing machine I heard a snap and some guy come running over and after feeling up my leg he told me I had a partially torn calf muscle. My Doctor told me he thinks it is a grade 2 so 6 weeks out of the gym. I could keep doing upper body weight lifting but I don't want to bulk up. I have only been doing it up until now because my guy told me the more muscle I have the more fat I burn doing cardio.

You also burn more fat while sitting on your arse if you have more muscle. Do the upper body stuff.

Ouch :(

Did you squeal like a little girl? :D
Yes then I said "ohh fuck" then grabbed my leg and then it did not hurt any more. I have a quick pain shut off which is how I knew this must have been bad as it stopped hurting.

Excellent news! Back on your bike properly?

I went and did a 3-day mountain biking beer festival last weekend. Got to wales Friday at 4:30, in pub at 5. Threw up on Saturday morning, did ride (with beer), went pub from about 3pm Saturday (bed about 2am), got up, mate threw up, did ride (with beer), back to pub at 2:30, home (drunk) at midnight.

Got on my fitbit aria scales on Monday morning (was 12st 13lbs before I left) - but they didn't recognise me. I'd put on (according to them) 9lbs over the weekend (though I reckon maybe 6) :(

4 days full-on fasting this week.

Realistically I may start biking half way through January. There are 7 bolts through my collarbone...healing up after they're removed puts an end to any kind of biking for a while.

I live! Hurts like an absolute bastard atm though. My mum patted me on the shoulder and told me to get well soon....it took all of my control to not pass out.

Measured my legs (cold), only 24" - Got another 4"-6" before I'm going to be happy.

Then my issue of finding jeans will kick in.

Week off the gym this week (Tomorrow to Friday)

I went jogging tonight (felt too shit to cycle), for the first time in more than 20 years. Managed 1.5 miles, my legs are sore now. I didn't get out of breath but my calves were hurting a bit. I'll give it a few days and then do it again.

I've started to go gym every day, and do 45 mins on the cross trainer, and not eat shit.

It's working miracles.

I'm operating on 5 hours sleep at the minute, and I don't feel tired in the slightest.

ITS WEIRD

Should post that in the thread where a load of people who complain about lethargy, depression and how they can't combat their fatness due to thyroid problems or their "genes" and see how quickly you get called a cunt.

Or, Mr Scousey Wousey you could encourage my behaviour and then people may motivate theirselves, as much as I'd like to think the path to getting fit is through state intervention, that guy calling you fat or some beefed up roid head telling you that that's the way to be, but it doesn't work like that, its self motivation, and nothing more.

If you push anything at someone aggressively they'll back off into a corner and eat cake.

This is true. But how do you "encourage" someone on a forum?

You post your thing - which I think is encouraging and inspirational and relating to your own personal experience, and not denigrating anyone else - and some touchy bitch will call you a cunt and accuse you of ramming it down their throat.

I'm feeling crap and I just know it's cos I haven't been exercising as much as usual.

Yeah, I could get out my bike tonight, but I might just stay in and do fuck all.

Got a new bike light too. Really should tbh.

Trouble is I find the less I do, the less I want to do it. and yet if I get up early and go to the gym/tennis every day I love it. And I feel so much better. Cannot do anything when it's dark nights. just want to curl up.

Thing is, you DO ram it down peoples throat.

I didn't ;)

Yeah. If I get out on the bike I'll feel so much better and have loads more energy. Dark nights do put me off tho.

Straight out from work without sitting down (or, preferably, even going home) is best. May put my bike in the car tomorrow and drop off at sherwood pines on the way home to test my light out.

Only did it because some lardy whiner started complaining straight away ;)
