I'm pretty sure the treadmill analysis is flowery bullshit, but trying the shoes on is a good idea :)

Anyone suggest some good running shoes? brands, etc.
tbh go to a proper running shop and ask for advice. they'll let you run on a few and perhaps even film your lower legs while you run to analyse your gait. go with whatever feels the best.

We used to have a couple near me (I moved) - they were usually independents rather than chains, I think.

Yep, normally small family run places, avoid the chains.

I've been using the witchcraft that is vibram 5 fingers for working out lately, I'll try running on them in the spring. I'm liking the far more natural feel than trainers so far though.

The best thing to run in is bare feet. This isn't very practical in reality though.

Mate of mine had problems running for years. Did the treadmill analysis and now has none.

Did he buy a decent pair of shoes afterward? ;)

They don't magically alter the shoes or make specific shoes to correct "runs like a twat". They have you do the walking, and then you try on all the shoes and buy whatevers comfiest.

Nah. He went to a place in cambridge that analysed your running and walking and recommended a specific pair of trainers that were fitted to alter his gait.

Went from massive cramps at 7 miles to marathons almost overnight.

Ah, fair enough if they do the full podiatry works and insoles etc. to fit them. :) The ones I've been to it's much like I said - bit of a fad and then you just pick what feels best. I suppose if you have a real issue if they're good they'll pay more attention.

Seen that doing the rounds on Facebook. Was more stoked seeing DDP in it though as the trainer.

I wonder how he did it though, thats a very lot of weight he lost in a small space of time, especially considering he was virtually crippled. Surely that wasn't all down to yoga classes and obviously cutting down on food??

What are food packs yoni?

Swedish brand as I am just coming off a vlcd (slanka). However if I was in the UK the packs would be lighter life ( I lost 75kgs with them in 2007)
