Sets and reps? :) Nice one  Do it !

I *just* reached 100 right before a back injury and Finals ruined my dreams of nailing it. Finally getting back into the gym and it's a long way away now !

For 97.5 one set of 1 rep :) It's my pure max right now. I warm up with about 7 at 20kg, 7 40kg and maybe 3-4 at 70 kg.
When I train I do 5 sets with 3 reps at 85 kg, 3 sets of 7 reps at around 70-75~kg (done heavy weight sessions last 3 weeks so don't know exactly what I take in my high rep session.)

I also try to do some more explosives ones at 60~ where I wait 3 seconds just above the chest before pushing up. By far the most tiresome :)

So nearly 25kgs down so decided to go to the gym this morning, had a food pack before I went did 30 mins cardio (exclu warm up and cool down ofc). It felt great!

This week was interesting, I had my first conventional meal in 2.5 months, I was out post managers team building day, made very wise choices (even though the MD booked oriental), had no alcohol and kept to protein. Very nervous about the scales the next day I got on them and the result was positive. Tested myself with a ketone stick and I was still in ketosis so all is good. *grins*

mehs, I totally fell off the wagon in the past three days: sweets, cookies and a massive amount of booze. Now I'm back on again (in my mind at least). Off to the gym in a few to punish myself with lots of cardio and long light weight reps.

I've hurt my knee so I'm having to wait for it to recover. Gonna try and do some crunchs or pressups so I can still exercise

I was extremely healthy this weekend. Did a fantastic mountain biking ride in Wales as part of the Real Ale Wobble.

Turned up on Friday night and got absolutely plastered - sank about 8 or 9 pints of very pleasant ale. Crawled out of the tent at 8:30am with a minging hangover and had a sausage and bacon bap then got on my bike and joined 700 others on a frankly ridiculous ride up a mountain.

11.5 miles in was the beer stop so had two and a half pints of beer and a shit in the conveniently located portaloo. Then rode up a river, through a series of thigh-deep ponds and then a marsh and finished up at one of the festival's beer tents and had a pint of perry, a pint of cider and a nice porter.

We then decided to ditch the showers off and simply put clean clothes on. Which is when I realised I'd forgotten my other pair of shoes and would have to wear my mingingly muddy and thoroughly soaking walking shoes. So we squelched to a pub and I had 3 pints of "High as a Kite" - a overpoweringly mollasses tasting malt at a rather heady 10.5% ABV - so a weak wine really. A bit like mead. Then we headed back to the beer tent where I had 3 or 4 more pints with a big hog-roast sandwich, followed by another pint, at which time I spectacularly chundered said pork in a huge orange (?!) pile round the back of the beer tent.

Then I went back in and had another pint :D

I felt great this morning when I woke up!

I thought so too! Almost as awesome as the welsh lad who gave me his chips for free when I screamed "noooooooo!" when I realised the chippy had shut earlier! :)

After realising that after the gym I need to immediately have another pack, not walk a couple of kms for a latte (typical me tbh I never do anything in moderation) I regained some energy and felt great in the afternoon and evening. Got up this morning and ache in a good way :). Question is I am travelling Tues to Thurs so should I go to the gym after work or leave it till Friday, remembering I've been a lazy fuck for the last two years and I live off 510cals per day with an extra pack on gym days....

510kcals a day Yoni? Watch yourself - that's pretty darn extreme. I do more than that on my "fast" days whilst eating normally the rest of the time.

Don't worry it is perfectly ok, nice that you care though. I start my refeeding process in December, what I am doing is under medical care and is very scientific :).

Embarrassing problem... I'm getting hemorrhoids from doing squats / pull-ups. It's fucking grim. Twice now in about 5 weeks. Anyone had this?

Have you tried breathing while doing them? :/

You get piles from pull-ups? Nasty.

I was thinking of getting a pull-up bar for one of my door frames. I don't do any upper body exercise at all - just do my cycling - so was thinking the occasional pull-up as I walk through the bog door for a piss, or a shower, or to pick a zit, would do me fine. But not if it's gonna give me big-ass bum-grapes :(

Unlucky m8. Go the doctor if they get bad and ask to get them "banded". They basically whack an elastic band around them to starve 'em of blood - then they fall off when they "die" :)

I think so. I do loads of pull ups & squats though so possibly not as well as I could.

I think pull ups (mostly with a chair) are the main culprit.

Why do pull-ups hurt your bunghole?

Can you not squeeze your ring whilst doing them or something? :)

Needed a shit terribad 15mins in to my run today
I had this problem when I was training for the GNR, at around the 7m mark I'd get killer pains in my stomach and needs such a dump. Had to slow down and let the farts out cautiously.

I'd go along to a proper running shop if you're really keen and have a look - most big names do good shoes and you pretty much get what you pay for.

If you're looking to buy a decent pair I'd recommend finding a dedicated running store and trying them all on and picking up whatever feels comfiest. If they're a good store they'll let you run up and down the street in them - you feel a bit of a tool, but it's the best way.
