Remain has just lost twice.

I have no faith in a proper brexit appearing, but 3 years of being called clueless wankers turned Mays defeat into Boris's landslide.
Poor old Vince Campbell on TV this morning..he just stared into space and said.
I handed the party over years ago.

Labour was never ever going to win.

1. They had Corbyn as a leader
2. They were sitting the fence on Brexit trying to please both the leavers and the remainers. That was never going to work. They should have declared either a leave or a remain party and then accept they will lost some votes.
I agree. Corbyn is shit and he was never going to get a majority but I could still vote for our local Labour candidate to try to kick a Tory out.

Didn't work. Our Tory/Labour marginal is now not-very-marginal.

I knew it was bad when I turned up at the polling station. It looked like an over-booked Saga holiday.

Labour got absolutely decimated in this election and they need to regroup and refocus. Not sure what Momentum's role in this was as well.

So you've just been abusive for no reason? Nice.

No, Leavers definitely cornered the thick racist market, I just don’t see how being more circumspect about it would have made more people vote for the dufflecoat.

I know it's pointless but Conservative + Brexit + DUP vote share = 46.4%
The pro-remain (except Labour was both) got a higher vote but again, if the Remainers wanted to be certain of staying in the EU then everyone should have voted for the LDs. Labour handed this win to the Tories without a doubt.

But look, even Jo Swinson got a nice P45 out of it. The people that voted Leave quietly bided their time, not going on marches, not calling people racist, thick etc. They got their opportunity to be heard again yesterday.

Momentum need to realise they are electoral poison and fuck off.

They won't though.

We now need a strong Labour party without Mr 'I wont press the button' in charge.

it wasnt about labour winning it was about the only option in my area to try to keep out Bozza and his crew. The result is in there really is no more to be said except potentially "I told you so" in a few years or so :).

I am genuinely at peace with the outcome as I did my best to prevent it and whether I live in the UK or in Sweden I am not "at risk or vulnerable", in that I have no children or grandchildren and my mum lives on the Isle of Man. A lot of people who have voted for a Tory change are vulnerable I hope they are at peace with their decision and remain so as we travel through the next 5 years.

Unfortunately that was never going to happen, more people left Labour for other parties so your tactical vote for Labour was doomed from the beginning.

it was the ONLY vote I could make in my constituency LD has c4% of the vote so doing that would have been silly. It is strange I had some hope as when I lived there it was a dominant Labour seat (12 years ago) so it isn't that people are against Labour, its just Bozza was the least bad option.

Fucking hell. Labour really are in cuckoo land.

Watching some BBC program on iPlayer and this Labour guy still cannot understand how they lost 2.5 million votes.

But apparently a lot more young people registered to vote. So you cant blame it on the demographic this time. They had their warning and opportunity to change it but they didnt have enough numbers.

so the tories got a 45% national share of the vote. Brexit about 2%. Thats pretty near half the voting population of the uk. And both did really poorly in scotland.

even with fptp you cant complain that the tories dont have a mandate now and this really served as a peoples vote on brexit also.

guess we will still hear how its fixed and all. But remainers have had 2 elections to change it since the referendum. Should be quiet now accept the lose and move on. Try to heal the divide.

Really ? Thats all you can come up with? I am not thick or racist. I just have a different vision for the country than you.

I never said all Leave voters are thick racists, but all thick racists are definitely Leave voters.

If your area really wanted remain then they should have changed to ld. like the miners who want to leave went to tory.

labour was a fence sitter.

Fuck me David Lammy is just a fucking twat. He also has not ruled himself out of a Labour leadership race. LOL.

Labour is in serious trouble.

It'll be fun trying to find one when you consider the core issues they have and what has already been said in the last few pages of this thread.
