LEEEEELLLLS! A fabulous result.

I genuinely feel for English voters, they’ve got no choice. I don’t see this as some sort of conservative domination, rather a sad reflection of just how bad Corbyn and Labour have become.

This is the start of the end of the UK, and that’s no bad thing for England and Scotland. We’re just very different in values and the directions we want to go in, it should be ‘dissolution of the union’ than ‘Scottish independence’ I feel.

PS - I hope you’re all well and I love you lots.

Aye - not particularly eloquent

She isn't going to find things that easy even with her Scottish majority, in a twist the SNPs best chance for early independence was probably a minority JC Labour government.

So calling people thick racists for 3 and half years doesn't appear to have changed their minds.

Who knew?

So had we not called leavers thick racists for the last three and a half years, would it have made a difference? I'm going to go with "no".

Iirc we only called @Job a thick racist (which he is) and I believe he wasn’t going to vote due to safe Lab seats .... which appear to be Labour still

Wasn't entirely referring to this forum, interventions from the luvvies (Coogan, Grant etc) probably helped the Tories yesterday as well. Add in the poison from Momentum and we are where we are.

I am very lucky as I do not have to live with this result I get to watch as this unfolds and see what happens over the next 5 years (or more :/)...

In other news my mum who is 82 today and an ex thatcher activist is having the best birthday apparently and “thrilled” with the results ... (she also doesn’t have to experience it as the olds abandoned life in mid Eng to the Isle of Man in 88 as they did not want to live in a UK under a Lab government oO)

Wish dad were alive to talk some sense into her (he became an avid supporter of the environment in the years before he died).

The EU isn't our bitch and never will be, it'll be our partner as we will be it's partner.

Europeans are our partners, the EU is dying.

Nationalism is running amok across the continent..its even the reason for the Scottish and Irish votes, though its a weird 'we want to be free to join a club that hates us.'

I find it quite ironic that revoking A50 was on the table but the LDs did not do well. Surely if the people who wished to remain wanted it that bad they would have voted for the LDs, put up with 5 years of their policy and then revert back to their original party?

Not in FPTP no. Too scared of wasting their vote. E.g. me, I voted Labour rather than LD because LD has always been a wasted vote in my area and things don't change that much.

But tactical voting? Surely if everyone all declared to vote LD then there must have been a real possibility of revoking A50? Isn't that what the Remainers have been banging on about for the last 3.5 years?

Labour was never ever going to win.

1. They had Corbyn as a leader
2. They were sitting the fence on Brexit trying to please both the leavers and the remainers. That was never going to work. They should have declared either a leave or a remain party and then accept they will lost some votes.
