Well my DVD player originally cost me nearly £400 over 4 years ago. I could probably get a better one now for less than £100 :(

Bit like PC upgrading really. You know it'll be worthless in a few years but still spend loads of money on it.

Maybe I should make myself to appreciate antiques and collectables.

What's the difference between an £800 DVD player and a £25 DVD player?
Picture quality - does make a huge difference. However if you're watching on a 14" screen it's not going to be very noticeable

true im back to me old 10" bedroom tv atm as me widescreen 32" jobbie is dead :/ the player has served me well. when conected to me dads projector and later me 32" tv. only down side it has is lack of mpeg 4 play back svcd support and mp3 playback. and tbh umless you a home cinema enthusiast and quality is top of the agenda then somat like this is great. if not then a 2nd hand xbox, soldering iron and any number of chips is better.

Make him pay with paypal, and ensure you're covered under their protection scheme (means verifying your address and bank)

AND he bought it off someone else in the first place.

Like any other - paypal only, send to verified address only (so you get seller protection), and don't leave feedback until he leaves it for you.

Anyone else having problems paying with paypal? I've been trying since Friday, and just getting this:

We are sorry that we are experiencing temporary difficulties. Please try again later.

Need some advice

My great aunt recently died leaving a Yamaha CVP-207 that I've agreed to sell for a reasonable cut. Checked out past ebay auctions and Yamaha clavinovas don't seem to be selling at all well.

You can get them brand new for around £2700-£2800, so I was thinking have a start bid of £500 and stick a reserve of £1800 on it. From what I could tell it's pristine 'as new' condition and the people I'm selling it for won't be happy if I get any less than that.

Anyway the biggest thing I've sold so far was £150 so can anyone give me advice on payment methods to accept and things like that. Cheers.

Keep it, and learn to play :)

For that much, I'd only accept paypal or BACS.
