Gray's scam:

All you do is take your phone line out of the wall

Cut through this phone line anywhere.

Strip it, and you will see 4 wires. Keep the black and red on one side and the green and yellow on the other.

Throw the other bit of the phone line that goes into the wall away, you'll have no need for it.

Now you need one of the 9V oblong batteries.

Put the red and the black wires on one side of the battery and the green and yellow wires on the other.

Hold it in place then go to your box office film or whatever, pick it and put your pin in as usual, it won't charge you. If you get a "please connect telephone" message - you haven't stripped the wires enough or the battery is dead.

After the screen clears you need to disconnect the wires from the battery. You will never need to reconnect your phone line back to your TV. Sky updates through the satellite on your house and not through the phone line like some people think.

VERY IMPORTANT - Never reconnect your phone line back to your sky box or you will be charged for everything you have ordered using this method.

Now every time you want to watch a PPV just repeat stages 6. 7. and 8.

I don't mean to be nasty here, but people that start auctions for used items at a price you could buy the item new, need to be shot in the face.

Nothing wrong with starting the auction at new prices, its the folk that buy at those prices need shooting

Heres an example when you can buy the same thing new with a guarantee at Woolworths and not involve the postage cost.

Wheres me gun!!

well i decided to knock a tenner off other day as it was seemingly quiet as i expected, altho with about 20mins to go few people have been flying in, so i should probably get about £80 again in total.

Other people should learn to shop around, before bidding on Ebay, im merely picking up on their sillynesss' heh

I'm going to ebay my watch, but i wanna know if a Freddy is interested in it first (first dibs n all).

It's a Tag Heuer 1500 series. I'm looking for £175 for it. It's in very good condition. I'll put up pics tomorrow but it looks like this (except a slate coloured face instead of the blue):

A mate of mine recently paid £1600 for a watch. This forces me to buy something slightly more expensive.

mookie, lower the starting price. I sold a fair few phones on ebay and the best response and highest prices have alwasy resulted from a low starting price.

I would have stuck Special Delivery on that tbh, i got a phone once which cost me £150 or so, sent by 1st Class Recorded, only the phone was lost/stolen while being delivered.

Took me about 2months to actually get the official response from Royal Mail that it was lost, and they creditted me back with a mighty sum of £28. That stopped me from buying anything which was valuable unless it had Special Delivery set on it, because the feeling of losing £100 was baaad ;s

If you go to www.royalmail.co.uk You can find out the prices for additional insurance on recorded delivery. Special delivery for a phone should be £6.95, which is insured up to £250 or something for free. I would agree with Gray, don't sell something so valuble without forcing the buyer to chose a postage option that covers its cost.

I might as well ask this here - I recently turned 18 and got my first debit card, I'm trying to signup on Ebay but it tells me

The following must be corrected before continuing:
#
Credit card number - Please make sure your card number is correct. It may not be valid.

I've signed up to play.com and cdwow with no problems, any ideas?

If you've received a debit card (presumably Visa Debit?) that's not the same as a credit card.

Hmmm, can't remember if I used a CC to sign on. Best asking on the Ebay community help forums Mobius.

I have my ebay account with my Visa Debit Card.
Mobius is it a Visa, or a Visa Electron Debit Card? Has it asked you for the verification code on the back of the card?

Yep, I signed up fine with my Visa Delta. Maybe it just doesn't like Electron and Solo?

BTW, you didnt have to wait till you were 18 for a debit card.

S'ok, I fixed it. Its because I used Gmail to register that I had to confirm my card details, I'm not sure why. I just used a different email, and it was fine.:)
