id say my room being bigger than yours was also far messier, my advice find a nice women. then feel the humilation when your are forced to clean your shit up
its not fair, but having my ds chucked in the been has made me clean up:/
Fecking hell, bit of advise.
On the last page you'll notice I sold my Abit AN7, Barton 3200 and halfa gig of ram to go with it.
Got an email late last night from this chap saying that upon opening the box an "expert" he had with him identified a burned out component, but the way they worded the email sounds like they're not too fussed...
Either way, I'm a little worried _ I'd been using that exact system for over a year with no faults, and there were certainly no burned out components! It's not something that's likely to happen in transit, and I can't see any problems on my original ebay photographs of it.
Ebay won't get involved in this kind of dispute, however it's quite likely that should this chap be upset he'd be able to take it further via Paypal or something - which I certainly can't afford to do. Especilaly when I know full well theres nothing wrong with it.
Any thoughts on how I need to go forward? So far I've only had this one message and I'm rather worried, as I said :

Sorry for the delay in giving feedback, however I had to wait until today before opening the package. Unfortunately I have been stung before, and it took a 3 month battle to get my money and costs back.
Obviously, I needed to open the package and examine the goods with an expert witness.
Unfortunately, he has told me not to use the board because one of the components has clearly burnt out.
I therefore must ask you, and please bear in mind that any response will be shared with our legal department, can you confirm that the goods are as described, in working condition, and will not cause damage to any other components upon first use.
Sounds like a scamming bastard. Don't give the chunt any of his money back! Someone tried this on with me, at the very least say that you want the good returned before a refund. It is not up to him to have some "expert" decide whether it's broken or not. Did you take down the serial number of the motherboard you sent him? Just in case he's going to swap it around for a fucked one.
You could always ask the citizen's advice bureaux?
Slight problem.
He's pointed out where the issue is, a blown transistor.
Blown it up on my hi-res pics - and sure enough, there it is, blown.
Didn't spot it when it was used, and never even used the part it's on (It controls the CPU Fan connector, speed monitoring etc). I've always used a front panel cooler controller. It might even have been supplied to me like that from new (ebuyer, feb 2006) but I cant see how it would just bloe like that.
However obviously the board otherwise works just fine.
The item wasn't sold as seen, I described it as fully working, which obviously it was - I was using it as such, and you certainly wouldn't be expected to notice something.
Bugger - I've said this in an email to him, and said I'd either be willing to rebate him a tenner for the trouble, or order a replacement transistor from Abit. Im too nice, really. However, my ebay policy has always been honesty :|
its prolly one of the mobos abit made with dodgy transistors,
if complains to eBay about this, and im speaking from what happened to em when i sold my laptop on eBay last autumn, eBay lock your account and sorting it out requires you to provide proof of purchase, proof the product worked before you ebayed it. and along with this they also ask for proof of purchase of random items you ebayed in the past 3 months, its fucking nightmare to deal with.
ive been through and if was in your place id offer refund and take the mobo back, get abit to replace it and sell it on after that. its alot less hassle than dealing with the retards in paypals call centers
I don't intend to - I'm just going to stand my ground - it works otherwise, I've offered him to provision of my old drive bay fan controller for nothing, and if he and/or ebay/paypal dont like it, they can frankly bugger off.
I hate the world of red tape despite it apparently being "for our own protection" and it's even more annoying when the honest of us are being made to look like criminals because we're expected to look over everything we sell with a magnifying glass.
Main reason for this, is being literally on the door of bankruptcy and my sideline refurbing laptops and selling the stripped parts is just about keeping us afloat :/ Certainly can't afford to hand back 90 odd quid, that was used for food :|
I've noticed the same recently - out of 20 items sold and dispatched 2 weeks ago (most have signed for the packages) and only 3 feedback left.
I've politely messaged each of them to ask if they have safely received their items in good order - might prompt a response.
On that note, this is even more annoying - Recorded Delivery (Signed For) is getting very few signatures of late too
I have to admit that I can forget to leave feedback when buying an item. Especially is it's taken a little while to arrive. When it does arrive, the first thing I'm thinking of is making sure it's what I ordered.
I usually leave feedback when I next go into my My eBay thing and spot I've forgotten to do it.
