I have a set of pretty unique neon his and hers toilet signs (3 his and 4 hers) that I'm trying to shift. I'm not sure whether to put them up as a set or individually list them. Some people have said they have novelty value for bachelor pads and that sort of thing, but I would like to shift them as a set just because they're huge and I want to make it as stress-free as possible.

Anyone sold anything like this before?

I've bought neon lights (a ghostbusters sign for WPKenny), and there is a bit section dedicated to them on ebay, with many looking to be geared towards the industry rather than glitzy batchelor pads. I'd advertise them in pairs though personally, cos not many places are large enough to have multiple toilets, and possibly put an add in the free ads.

nice. two types of tyre in a set.

Yeah, not ideal... but then for the price of one tyre (matching left and right, but not front and rear) plus whatever you bid you could have a set of alloys and tyres...

Reason I went for these in the first place was that I needed to buy 4 new tyres for the Ka, and it has shitty looking steelo wheels with trims that fall off at any corner... 4 decent tyres will cost about £160 these days anyway....

Yeah, there were 2 paths I could go down (I only mentioned one in the original post for some reason...). I can either pitch them for home use (in which case pairs is probably the best option) or for a club/bar that does have multiple toilets and is in the process of refurbishment or just realised that they're current toilet signs are a bit shabby and could do with replacing.

I also have all the power supplies (which are a mite chunky and were concealed above ceiling tiles in the club the signs were in) so they're ready to go right out of the box (I obviously don't have the box).

They're currently sitting in my flat taking up about a quarter of my lounge so I'm keen to shift them but have no idea what value to attach to them. I don't want to start too high for fear of lack of bidders.

Oh yeah, I also have a cloakroom neon in the same style which will be infinitely harder to get rid of I imagine....

Cockbadgers.

For ages and ages I've been looking on Ebay for a Casio HT-3000, a keyboard that I used to own while at secondary school.

One turned up in Chesterfield, so I bid/bade/bidded on it, only to be working at the time the auction ended. Missed that one, it went for about £50

Then as if by magic a day or so later one appeared, but in the USA. So I won that, total cost about £80 to get it here. Its on the way now.

Another 2 of the fuckers have appeared on Ebay, one in Glossop, one in Stoke - both dead easy to get to. One went for £27!

I just know that there won't be any more for about 5 years. Typical. Oh well, at least I've got one coming, albeit expensive :(

I never pictured myself selling anything like these on eBay...

Nipple Tassles!

Loads of other girly stuff on there courtesy of the missus. Also a very expensive unisex bag if you're that way inclined...

guys,

Sold an item on ebay on friday : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=330111594461&rd=1&rd=1

Now, this was working when I pulled it from my daughters machine just after christmas and has been in anti-static bag ever since.

I got a mail from the buyer :

i have received the processor as you sent it in good order packaging wise but when i fitted it to my motherboard it will not run, it is not seen by the system. i have had to refit my original one and this worked. i fitted it in the correct way and retried it and again it will not operate.
i wonder if maybe it is defective or has got damaged in the handling when it was removed.
look forward to hearing from you.

Now - even if I get him to send back as faulty - i cant confirm this since I dont have a machine which would take that processor. I have asked him for the make/model of his motherboard to ensure that it is compatible.

Other than that - where do I stand on this?

thanks.

Depends how friendly you want to be, did you have a refund policy on the auction? You don't claim in the item description that the CPU actually works, buyer beware I suppose.

If you find a machine you can test it in, then maybe ask him to return it so you can test it, but ensure you make clear all postage costs are on him. If it works then you haven't lost out, if it does not then you have to decide if you are a nice guy or not :)

Looking at his feeback history, he has had one negative for non-payment and one dispute recently, be wary.

no refund policy stated in the auction.

Unfortunately, I need to be nice. The ebay user is for my wifes business and I dont want any negative reps (especially during the first 4 sales)

You must take his word for it and get him to send it back. Once back, you should test it. If it works, send it back and charge him for more postage. If faulty, refund him. If you can't test it, refund him.

mm...found a compatibility listing :

http://www.jetway.com.tw/jetway/CPU-support/867AS.htm

and looking down the list (almost to the bottom)

Code:
Model Name : 867AS
BOM Version BOM Ver CHECK
BIOS Version : A08 X	11	17

Athlon (0.13u) AXDAxxxxDUT3C/1.60V
AthlonXP 1800+ 133	11.5 NO NO OK

not sure what the X/11/17 mean but it seems that the board may not be compatible)
