A hint on how big "eSports" is getting, and a great hate and jealousy object, let me tell you of gaming houses. The Chinese team DK, has one, a fucking hotel-esque building. Another chinese team, iG, the best team in the world, is rumoured to have a even better one. No pics have come out of China though. American team EG has a mansion somewhere. Currently, EG is only Starcraft at the moment, but theres been talk of their Dotateam moving in as well.

With gaming house I mean a place rented by their sponsors, where they stay for free and just game. 24/7.

Oh yeh, quite prevalant, specially in Korea with SC2. Think some teams even have acadamies. Just think though, if you are there you are expected to game game game, a large cut of your winnings go to the team and you aren't allowed much of a life, by accounts I have heard. I can't imagine playing like that.

Theres been rumours of a BIG sponsor for No Tidehunter coming up. People have been shouting Red Bull. EternalEnvy has confirmed they are looking for a gaming house (probably in Sweden due to squad being 4/5 Swedish) which makes the list of potential sponsors very limited.

Does anyone here play League of Legends?

A friend got me into it and now I'm hooked. People really aren't as abusive as was made out to me. Some are but most not.

I played HoN, LoL and Dota 2. Dota is much better mate

Ye, LoL doesnt hold an inch on the strategies or tactics or level on dota. It's better for casual gaming though!

Hmm, Dota 2 wiki is allreet, check out joindota.com for some info.. There is loads of walkthroughs on youtube by Luminous etc. Try some bots first, its a big learning curve

Well a hop, scotch and a few bot games later i had it down. Not that different from league really, but also not sure which one to play. Both have highs and lows compared to eachother.

Melee characters are still the bane of me, need to learn to use them.

I've been trying to make time to get going on DOTA2.

it being new i hope the community hasn't had the time to devolve as the LoL one has yet. That said I have invested some cash in LoL


But a question...what is the significance of nighttime? Having only rolled around in half a bot game I am unsure..

As far as I know it only effects Nightstalker (his abilities are stronger during night time, and he can also extend night time with his ultimate). I could well be wrong though, but that is the only thing I have noticed that significantly effects gameplay as pertains to the day/night cycle.

Melee characters are still the bane of me, need to learn to use them.

Tbh to a large extent success as a melee in an equally skilled game is down to the performance of your team and your team's composition. Most melee carries (such as Anti-Mage, Timeless Void etc) need to be babysat by a ranged support hero (Jakiro, Lion etc).

Dota; More challenge, better focus.

Lol; better character design/feel.

Both have their own gameplay good/bad, but i think i'll stick with dota just because it's less forgiving.

I dont know why, valve keep giving me copies every other week :/ I finally got rid of my stash a couple of weeks ago and now they've given me three bundles of 5......
