I am curious to know the exact mechanics of how the fire started in WTC7.

One thing I laughed about was - "Unlike that of the Twin Towers, the collapse of 7 WTC had been anticipated for several hours and the building had been evacuated."


From what I could gather though the collapse was due to fire?

if a fire was raging for "several hours" surely that'd be enough time to put it out?

yes obviously fire services etc would have been concerned with the twin towers... .but I'm fairly confident they'd have been part of the evacuation no?


I don't really care about 9/11 personally extremely sad that some 3,000 people died yes, but then came the "war on terror" which by definition will never end :|

WTC 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 have all had to be rebuilt as a result of the attacks, what makes 7 so special to the conspiracy nuts when 3, 4 and 5 were demolished anyway.

I'm typing this off the top of my head, but IIRC there was something housed / stored / based at the bottom of WTC7 that was of conspiracy importance.

Big chunks of the North Tower fell on WTC7, leaving a 10 story gash down the south face of the building and hole in the middle. Fires (understandably) started because of this, that the fire dept. couldn't put out because there was no water pressure in the area, so with everything else going on, they left it to burn. Eventually the fire ripped out the core of the building and destroyed a key support beam and the building came down. The end.

The significance of this particular building is not lost on some people. Despite the building being pretty much empty, some have claimed that Mayor Rudy Guiliani’s command centre (which allegedly orchestrated the events in WTC Plaza) was based in WTC 7. Correct. The problem was that a lot of fireman died when the 2 towers collapsed (i'd asume a lot of equipment, etc aswell). They didnt have the resources and or time to take care of tower 7.

The phrase "really fucking MASSIVE sledgehammer to crack a nut" springs to mind here. Are people really claiming that the best way to destroy conspiracy files in a building you already have access to, is to fly planes into the buildings next door and blow up your building in the confusion? Really? So what if the twin towers hadn't set WTC7 on fire? Then dropping WTC7 independently wouldn't have worked would it? The "conspiracy" relies on so many sequential events happening exactly as required with no margin for error in order to work. I think a few of these nutcases need to read their Von Clausewitz and have a serious think about the odds of achieving such a complex sequence of objectives.

Well I'd agree, but I can think of a couple of reasons why you wouldnt want anyone to see whats in there. It's not just the CIA that whas in there but also:

United States Secret Service
Internal Revenue Service
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

And quite a few banks/insurance companies.

Are you actually looking things up before you post or are you just making stuff up like most other conspiracy theorists? This is exactly what i talked about earlier.

Jet fuel fires can be as hot at 1200 degrees, steel melts at 800. The air itself rarely becomes hotter then 900 degrees, but that alone would still make steel melt.

And at that heat, even concrete will start to weaken and lose it's strength.
